I saw 2 movies today:

Running Scared Violent, filled with curses and some humor pretty good movie.

Ultra-Violet Very cool. Great action scences and Mila Jovovich has never looked better. Well worth full-price.

Memoirs of Geisha - AAA especially with John Wiliams music

Brokeback Mountain - Very good movie and quite an original atmosphere - too much GUY on GUY action ..(sick) , but the story is great.

Just saw one of the best low budget indie-flicks ever, Six String Samurai. The premise:

In 1957 the bomb drops and the USSR takes over the scarred and battered wasteland that used to be the United States. The last bastion of freedom, democracy, capitilalism and Rock and Roll is a place known as Las Vegas, with a mighty king ruling all, a man known only as Elvis. 40 years pass and eventually Elvis dies. Vegas needs a new king.

Enter Buddy, a bespectacled Buddy Holly lookalike with a sword, and Kid, his somewhat unwanted sidekick. Together they brave the rigors of the wasteland including ex Russian cosmonauts, Death (and his band) and the Cleavers as Buddy strives to fulfill his destiny, supreme ruler of Vegas.

Needless to say, it rocks.

Hostel - Damn I love the ending of this movie. The beginning is pretty thin but it progresses into one helluva twisted flick. 7/10

MI 1 and 2 - 1st one was better but I enjoy John Woo' s stylish fighting none the less. 9/10 & 7/10

Mission Impossible 2 was good, but it was a little more James Bond than i prefer, y' know, motorbike-jumping-motorbike action is a little too stylized for me. Cruise isn' t very stealthy anymore either. it was good for a popcorn flick though.

On a semi-related note, has anyone seen Firewall? I wanted to go see it, but i' ve got no clue if it sucks or not. Help anyone?

Lucky Number S7evin

Awesome. Easily better than Revolver!

I' ve never really been a Lucy Liu fan but she looks great in this film. Short too which i never realised before. This is probably my favourite film of the year so far and everything from the dialogue to the editting was superb. I highly recommend watching it if you haven' t already seen it!

Underworld Evolution

I liked the first film even though some of the dialogue was off and the plot was full of holes. It had a VERY cool style and the trailer featured one of my favourite tracks, ' Red Tape' which also featured in The Jackal, so i had to watch it.

Anyway, the sequel had an aful lot of potential (like Ultraviolet) but went off in the wrong direction and ended up sucking badly (like Ultraviolet). Shame really because Kate has a great ass!

Saw Mission Impossible III. Must say that I liked this one better than the second. Really good, non-stop action from start to finish. So much so that it was kind of nerve-wracking!

Saw Final Fantasy: Advent Children. The graphics are TOP NOTCH! The action was waaaay over the top. It was cool, but there was a bit too much jump-cutting in the cinamatography during the fight scenes. Seriously. I had to look away from the screen a couple of times! Could be because my tv is so big, but it' s never been a problem before. I' m hoping this will be one of the first Blu-ray movies released!

MUNICH: Spielberg is a master at these kinds of movies.

Mars Attacks: Burtons extremely campy movie of the comic. Not the greatest movie you' ll ever see, but certainly entertaining.

Dead Like Me season 2: A great series about the lives of modern day Grim Reapers. Not the ol black cloaked ones tho. A good dark comedy.

Just watched Poseiden. It was okay. I' d say it was a rental more than a purchase.

Also saw Over the Hedge. Man, that movie is SOOOOO funny! I mean, laugh out loud type, funny! It was made by the same people who made Shrek, and if you liked that movie you' ll LOVE this one! I may see it again at the theater, and I will DEFINITELY buy it on DVD!

How does the new Poseiden stack up against the old one, Chee Saw?

I also saw X3 - it' s " OK" - much worse than the second and I didn' t feel so good about it as I did about X-men 1.

I don' t know why they changed director - that guy was awesome.

I also saw Inside man - kicks some serious ass :)

Just saw the new version of The Producers, a movie based on a Broadway musical based on a movie. As good as the first one, but seing soft-spoken Matthew Broderick trying to fit a Gene Wilder role was awkward. The masterful musical numbers such as " Keep it Gay" , " The Guten Tag Hop Clop" , and " Springtime for Hitler" more than make up for it though.

Poseidon - Mildly better than average
X3 - better than X1, not as good as X2. Good special effects an that no.
Da Vinci Code - Good, but predictable. I hadn' t read the book.

On DVD - Nightwatch is a must see, looking forward to buying V for Vendetta and the Proposition when they come out. Thinking they might hold on to V for a Nov 5th release, but I hope not.

I didn' t like the original one, but I was younger when I watched it and just thought it was boring. The new one is quite good special effects and stuff, but not exactly the most challenging movie I' ve ever seen. It does have Kurt Russell though

I recently watched all 6 Star Wars movies on DVD. not all in one night or anything... over the course of 6 days or so. The DVD version of Empire Strikes Back has poorly mixed dialog and some of it is difficult to even hear. The Special Edition LaserDisc certainly has much better 5.1 sound.

The other day I rented Prozac Nation which wasn' t what I was expecting and I guess I had high expectation for it so in turn I didn' t enjoy too much. It OK.

The other week I rented Green Street Hooligans. It had Elijah Wood in it, " A wrongfully expelled Harvard undergrad moves to London, where he is introduced to the violent underworld of football hooliganism." I enjoyed it because he tries to kick people' s asses in it. Its fun watching a cute little dude try.

But you liked Fight Club right?

Anybody who doesn' t instantly " get" Revolver is just dumb. It' s no where near as good as Snatch but it isn' t as bad as some people have claimed.

I saw it last week on it' s opening night in the UK, but what i don' t get is why a) Barbossa is still alive, and b) why he would agree to help get Jack back...

The movie itself was awesome!

Please refrain from calling me dumb. I quite frankly found the film to be a confusing mess, as did many others.
