Saw a strange action/crime drama called The Boondock Saints. It' s about 2 Irish American brothers who get fed up with the mafioso running around Boston and start killing them off. It features Billy Connolly as a 50 year old, cigar chomping hitman and Wilem Dafoe as a gay FBI inspector. ' Nuff said.

FANTASTIC movie!

Banner weekend here... Chasing Amy, Mallrats, SuperTroopers, Anchorman... I think that' s it.

I' ve recently went to watch Cars. It is better than I expected, actually. I just love the way they took something as simple as everyday vehicles and managed to give them all emotion and make each one so unique. Of course, the ending was pretty predictable, but that happens so often in a lot of movies these days, we are all very much used to it by now.

I finally bought FFVII: Advent Children although i' v never played the game (which might sound stupid) but I wanted it for the cinematics and sound. I didn' t really get the whole story but I could just read up the story for the game, anyways this movie was awsome and my two favorite parts are when the girl(cant remember her name) and the guy whith the thing on his arm fight in the church and the end fight with Cloud and Sephioth (I think thats how you spell it).

Quick question, does anyone know where a list of HD-DVDs and Blu-Ray dvds currently out or soming out soon? Preferabbly up to and around the time of the HD-DVD add-on for the 360, curious to see if I' ll even be interested in any of the movies to merit buying the thing anyways.

War of the Worlds (2005..or 6?)- I enjoyed it quite a bit. The kids were complete assholes in the start tho even while the Dad was trying to get their asses to a safer place.

Yeah, but it was pretty funny when the girl saw all of those dead bodies floating along the river.

I went to see Monster House yesterday.

Yep, yet another (relatively) new movie! This could also go into the " Movies that surprised you" thread. Be warned though, I will be typing in British-text.

Now, I know I am never usually one to actually complain about a movie or anything, but for me this turned out better than I thought it would be. Also, the cinema that I watched it in has terrific surround sound! For example, at certain points of the movie, the sound went from the centre of the room to the left in such an effect that made the viewer feel like they are really in the spot of the action. I think this was funnier than Cars(which, in my opinon, isn' t really that hard of an achievement anyway) and there was a rather interesting twist at the end. So, overall, I believe this is at least worth seeing once- even if only for the splendid use of surround sound.

I guess one advantage to my rather dull Summer Holidays is that I have seen a lot of great movies. I' m going to watch Pirates of the Carribeans 2 next week.

Recently watched these movies:

Serenity - Crap Ok... poorly delivered story, but some good ideas.

Batman Begins - Violent, and Batman' s a cold-blooded murderer, how many innocent policemen did he kill?

Man on Fire - Denzel should have won an Oscar for his role as Creasy
rather than Training day.

Constantine - Cack, cack and double cack, it didn' t even have anything
of cliched apocalyptic proportions. Keanu manged to shake the Neo role until
he blurted: " I can feel them.." Geez!

I didn' t like B Begins , but it' s the true Batman - he wasn' t very merciful in his early comicbooks. You wanna have a disney version? go see the superman :)

I' ve seen the SuperMan, and SuperMan is too soft it hurts.. The overall
caped crusader experience was horrible and left me with a bad taste in my
mouth after all the hype surrounding it...

What are you talking about? I didn' t see him kill anyone in the movie, he beat the shit out of alot of people and burned down that place in the beggining but that' s it. He didn' t even kill the villain. The closest he came to killing someone was at the trial where he planned to shoot Chill but he didn' t.

Saw the Family Guy movie

Know what pisses me off about that? The movie itself was actually 3 episodes put together (as stated in the commentary) that was just recently shown on Fox and Adult Swim. I feel a little rip-offed for buying the DVD. Actually I will feel ripped-off only if the 3 episodes in that are put in the next DVD set.

Just saw Birth... it was mildly intriguing but felt like 30 mins of scenes were left out, it was too vague. Also saw " The Hours" ... and uh, what the fuck was that? I want the 2 hours of my life back.

Loved the film, seen it 3 or 4 times so far. I think V is played very well (Maybe not compared to the comics though as I have never read them).

But yeah, great movie.

Brick - Low budget noir style movie with a highschool setting that actually was pretty damn good.

Peter Jackson' s Bad Taste - This is one of the most campy fucked up and hilarious movies I' ve ever seen. It' s hard to beleive he went on to make Lord of the Rings and King Kong...seriously watch the start of his career with this movie and prepare to be put into shock and awe.

Jeff Dunham:Arguing With Myself - Hilarious ventrilquist comedian.

I just saw V for Vendetta too actually, and accompanied a few girls when they went to see Step Up. Movie turned out pretty well, and the music was actually catchy as hell.

The soundtrack is pretty good, and I read today it' s going to be on " so you think you can dance?"

I think it' s easy to believe since the editing and directing sucked ass in all of them

The Weather Man - great movie

Two for the Money - also great (actually better than the previous one) :)

Could someone PLEASE tell me why there is so much hype about this movie? It looks lame as hell from the previews.

I saw Monster House last week. Not bad, but it had the most retarded backstory ever. Other than that, it was actually pretty good.

Interesting preview, they are re-releasing The Nightmare Before Christmas...in 3D. I' m looking forward to that.

I saw Pirates of the Carribeans 2 yesterday like I promised, and, again, I loved it to bits! The graphics were amazingy realistic, and the movie was much funnier than its predecessor in my opinion. I prefered the original where plot came in, but I did enjoy the classic pirate/sea clichés and myths such as the Flying Dutchman and Davy Jones. Without spoiling anything, there is a rather neat cliffhanger at the end of the movie(they' ve already been working on the third movie for a while).

Only watch this if you' ve seen the first, though, as it will make more sense. Not like with some movies...

Casanova - I liked it - it' s no must-see or anything like that , but it' s fun to watch.

MIAMI VICE - what a mess... Uber CRAP, don' t waste your time.
