Yay! I started playing the original Shenmue again! Ah, the memories! I had to go digging through my house for my DC and the games. Since I went off to college they hid it all on me. when I go back to college I' m taking it with me this time. they seem to have lost my strategy guid though which is dissapointing. I don' t really need it, but I want it. Anbody else pullin out the ol' DC to relive the glory days?

Sort of true, but more likely, sonic team chose to go to the gamecube...Yuji felt his games wouldnt sell on other systems, and he was almost right... But after making sonic heroes multi platform, he wont repeate that mistake again. All sold equally as well i believe.

Anbody else pullin out the ol' DC to relive the glory days? I recently played through both Shenmue 1 and Shenmue 2 on the DC. It was awesome. I do not understand why Tom is considered Ryo' s " best friend" .

I know! Tom' s cool in a wild and crazy dancing hot dog selling Jamacin way, but he doesn' t exactly come off as the the best friend. I thought it was kinda funny. In the first day I found the kiey to the sword case in the dojo and already have the sword in the secret door. Now I just gotta remember where that pieve of the handle is. Haha, I could open the basement in the first week. Then again, I' d much rather get through the whole story.

I always thought Tom and Ryo were friends when they were little kids or something, and that is how they knew each other so well. All they really tell u about ryo when he was little is that his dad trained him with that other guy that he doesn' t really like hangn' wit.

I wonder what it was all about when you were in Hong Kong and you would see a plane fly by in the sky, there is a short cut scene showing the sky... I always thought you would end up in the states one time and meet Tom and Nazomi (or whatever that girls name was that had a crush on Ryo and left Yokosuka in the first chapter). But somehow it doesnt seem to fit into the game going to the States... well lets wait and see! What did you guys think about the fork lift job in the port? I really loved it, it had such a realistic but fun feeling to it (and it really is quite simillar to driving a real forklift, I did that in my apprenticeship, but many complained about it being boring) I could have worked in that job forever - in the game that is!!!

Im so glad there going to let us finish the story. I hope it goes multi-platform, but i' m pretty sure it' s going 360, which isn' t bad.

Anbody else pullin out the ol' DC to relive the glory days? I always have mine next to my other consoles. It' s never away from my sight :P I had actually just finished playing Shenmue I and was planning to start Shenmue II the same day the news about Shenmue III came. After completing the first game I was actually thinking that it was nice to be able to continue the story. But that I wouldn' t be thinking that after finishing the second again, hehe. Then that news came. It must' ve been an omen ;)

ORIGINAL: ys I always have mine next to my other consoles. It' s never away from my sight :P Technically my DC is the " family console" . Since my parents bough it for me and my siblings I couldn' t take it to college with me because my brothers and sisters wanted to use it. I' m on summer break now and found that they never used it and just put it away. this time I' m taking it with me to college. The DC does not deserve to be shoved off in some corner! I love my DC! All this talk of Shenmue, DCs, and Sega really maes me miss the days where Sega was one of the biggest powers in the industry. I miss that so much...

God it feels good to read posts like that :) I have my DC always on sight and treat it with more care than any of my new consoles. It had such a huge impact on me ...I hate those MOFO' s sayin' stuff like " DC is a ZOMBIE or it' s dead" hmm...yeah that would make me one sick man :) I think it' s awesome to have all chapters redone for next gen - I just hope they won' t ruin anything. Shenmue 2 was far more better than Shenmue 1 but to miss all that great experience in favour of a movie is not a good thing. When it came out it deserved 10/10. Can' t wait to get my hands on Lan Di :)

Damn gamespot. You know what? i saw your budget, you co-work with sony in your budget rapports, thats why you show psp 10% of the time on your tv show?! Thats why i can dl all videos in PSP format? Thats why yu call ps3 for the monstermachine, and the xbox360 price for rip off? Also i made a own topic about wada(president of square-enix) hinted that FF and DQ serie might go multiformat. DId they wrote seomthing about it then? Ye 2 days later, when all in the community had seen it. They just had to put it up then. GS give every FF game a 7-8 in sound, when it has the best sound ever, they even think FF9 is worth 8.5?! Worse site ever,if you ask me. Here is what they wrote recenlty... " Here' s the only reasonable conclusion: If you' re a Shenmue fan, it looks like your lot in life is suffering. Don' t let the quarterly Internet rumor flare-ups fool you(and they gaved a link to kikizo.com). You' ll never get cozy with Nozomi; you' ll never defeat Lan Di; and you' ll definitely never find out what in the hell all those ancient mirrors were for. However since fans love the game so much and since no information has been made official about its existence or not, go ahead and hold on to a little hope "

ORIGINAL: ]GaNgStA[ Shenmue 2 was far more better than Shenmue 1 but to miss all that great experience in favour of a movie is not a good thing. I really disagree. I thought the first game was better. It was so much more engrossing than the second. the story was much more pushed on the player. You also stayed one one town which really made you feel like you were home. I know the second one needed to fit more in and give you a sense of being in an unfimiliar place, but feeling out of place made me less engrossed. I never really felt like I was Ryo in the second game. They also took a lot of the interactivit out in the scond that was in the first. I dunno. I Just liked the first one a lot better.
