Square hinted that the FF series would not longer be exclusive to the Sony consoles at the 360 summit In Japan. they are really starting to roll in some support.

Yeah, wada(presiden of S-E)also mention the dragon quest serie...
I just hope we get the FF13 and not something equal like FF crystall-
Also one thing that bother me...if ps3 gonna come out in japan around 2006 march, and so does FF12,why not make it multiformat?!

I know,i just think its stupid to release it at the same time as ps3 and not make it multiformat, wada himself said that the cost for it and being delayed is one reason he reconsider making FF serie multiformat.

Hello everybody! I' m new here - first off: Thanks Kikizo-Team for these GREAT news!

I almost cried tears of joy when I read that article... just ... so .. happy!!!

I think it would be best if they release Shenmue as a multiplattform game or if only one console it should be for PS3 (eventhough I am not a big Sony fan), but this game really deserves some decent sales!
A multiplattform release would also shut up all the fanboys that are only whining because the game is not on their system...

Shenmue was a great game on the DC. I really got into the game and was a little dissapointed when the DC died. Good news to see it appear on the xbox. Yeah, I would prefer a multi release but would also prefer the 360 getting the release.

The question isthis, is Shenmue really good enough to manage in the next-gen with all these other MMO/RPG' s around? It might struggle but hopefully it will work.

Would be great if they bundled all the episodes with it. Many people never played the first and even less played the second. I miss the pet cat!

p.s. Heya Ogni, welcome to the Kikizo boards.

Sega really needs to release the game from the beginning, one thing I really liked about shenmue is that it starts off quite slowly and really gains pace in the end (if you think of 1&2 as one game). You kind of stumble into the game - just like you do with lots of good RPG' s.

I hope they change the controls a little bit, I think a lot of people got scared by the somehow strange controls. Eventhough I really liked the way of walking by pressing a shoulder button (you just had to pretend you are driving a car in a racing game). IIRC they changed that for part 2, where you could also control Ryo with the analog stick, its much easier for people to get into the game that way.

Shenmue is quite possibly the best game you will ever play on any system...
This game needs to be on the xbox360 because of the fanbase asociated with a microsoft console(predomanantly adults) and sega and microsoft have been on really great terms.

To quote someone," the body dies, but the soul lives on, in the xbox" Very true because most dreamcasters went to xbox.

It' s time to get our revenge on lan di, it' s to see where this leads us and it' s time to go back to shenmue!

Lets just hope this game become long,i want games to be long, especially when it comes to shenmue3...
oh btw im scared for lan di :S
I need more training in martial art before i dare meet him.
I also been thinking, mayby you get help from other friends you meet to fight off lan di.
Because ryo learned in shenmue2 not to go for revenge and calm himself...

Well I' m very suspicious what goes on with Shenhua, has anyone ever seen that projekt berkeley video? There is so much to see in there that has not happened in 1&2 yet! Cause after all there are still 10 chapters missing. I really hope they pack it all in one game, would be much more fullfilling to play...

Well if you ever played PSO on GC, I think you would agree that most Sega users went to play on GC. Sonic Adventure sales also seem to prove that!

No not really. PSO did awefully well on the xbox aswell. Also Sonic Adventures did well on the GC because it' s for a younger audience aka Nintendos prime audience. Older Sega fans turned to the Xbox for the most part. The Sega fans were basically the ones that caused the Xbox to be somewhat successful.

the 2nd game end in a speical way...i dont know how they gonna be able to let other players get into the story :S
they need a dvd like they did with the xbox version where you saw the whole game,or atleast explained some.

It is not a question of age...(who is turning to what :D)

But...geez, I don' t want to buy an x360 to play only 2 games (PGR3, Shenmue 3(?) )... i hope it will go out to Revo/Ps3, or at least it will be a multiplatform...

oh, by the way: I dont think that Ryo will avenge his father. Just look, what is this this game' s phylosophy...buddhism, tao, zen, and all that stuff, Japans do not agree with killing for revenge... and I don' t think Ryo can carry Lan Di' s life on his shoulders.. (if you know what I mean :D )

Alright, alright-I am going home ^^

I think that looking at how many new users joined the forum since the news was posted and how fast this thread has grown is testament to how loved Shenmue is. Over at the Shenmue Dojo forums, the thread pointing to the Kikizo article was already at around 26 pages this time yesterday! People love this game. I love the fact that I play alone, not with other online morons ruining everything. Screw MMORPGs. Gimme " FREE" or whatever it is called anyday!

I never had any problems with the Shenmue controls, but then again I am great!

I actually joined to post about the Shenmue-like game but it seems that I was just in time for the other news too ;)

As for Shenmuedojo, that one thread is huge. It' s almost impossible to follow it actually lol
Playing online can be ok though but I had doubts about it working out for Shenmue Online. Shenmue is one of those games that rely heavily on a certain philosophy and feeling. Preserving that with a bunch of morons using aol-talk and trying to ruin it for others online is hard.

See the thing about Shenmue is that it dosent attract the mainstream casual gamers that titles like Need For Speed or Fifa, these people are not interested in a 50 hour game that is excellant in so many ways, they want fun right at the go, no running around and spending hours to find ' Charle' . And that is what separates it from no1 selling games, Its too Deep. Face it, all the people who posted here that are excited about the game have played 1 and 2 [Which I loved] there are rarely newcomers to established fanbases that span mostly of hardcore Gamers.

Unless Ryo gets his ride pimped By Xzibit half way through the game, or that you can customise and give ryo a rad new hairstyle while listen to ea traxs. This Game is For The Fans, newcomes might be lost, confused, and have wetted themsleves for no real reason.

And its a Shame really becuase whatever Platform it comes on, Most People wont get to experiance what a Truely Great game it will be.

Shenmue 3 will probably be a big, long game. The first 2 were pretty lengthy compared to most games, at least I thought so. So Shenmue 3 I' m assuming will be about the same lenght. If they included 1 and 2 with Shenmue 3, wow, that would be one HUGE game. I don' t think anyone could complain about it being too short. Although if it is as good as it should be everyone will always want more.

If they inlcude 1 and 2 with it and you have the option to skip right to 3 what will you do? If it is graphically redone I think I' ll play through the first 2, not sure I would if it isn' t. Difficult decisions.
