It is a crap name i know but when it comes down to it is all about what games come on it. if the games that come to it are good then you should not be put off but the name.

A part of me wants to see Nintendo do well. However, the rest of me just wants to buy the best 360 games, and ignor the rest.

Same here it' s kinda weird because I like nintendo but somehow I would like to see them suffer for a while to come to their senses for at least the generation after this ...I might buy the rev sometime later but not soon, i' m more interested in the 360 atm.

Same here it' s kinda weird because I like nintendo but somehow I would like to see them suffer for a while to come to their senses for at least the generation after this That' s something I' d like to hear about Sony... I think GameCube and N64 , while very profitable , made them come to their senses - DS proved that (and not many of us , including me, believed it would win with PSP) and now Wii - They are doing amazing things I think , and another HD system with a few N AAA titles wouldn' t do them good -it would be another GameCube or even worse. I think they are doing what they should' ve done after N64... I definitely wish them all the best since they may be getting their ass kicked when it comes to agressive competitors , but in the end they are KEEPIN IT REAL somehow with no PR Bullshit coming at us (like Killzone 2005 E3, Xbox Compatibility for 360).

I' m not sure if it has been mentioned, but I did notice that the priorities are in breaking the traditional control mold. Sure, you can talk about the " inclusive" name of the Wii, but the titles and the gameplay style look great for both the next gen console and the portable. Which brings me to what I could easily perceive the rivals' view of Nintendo: " Oh, great. WiiDS." PS. Don' t make me spell out how that' s pronounced. It should be obvious.

Now he' s talking about something called WiiConnect24. The console can be connected 24/7, allowing developers to push content to consoles even " while you are sleeping." Networking software is included in the hardware " Wii knows when you are sleeping," " Wii knows when you' re awake," Wii knows if you' ve been bad or good," " So play Wii for goodness sake" hmm, has anyone seen or read I Robot... 24/7 uplinks... STOP THE TERROR BEFORE IT STARTS!!!

Wii constantly updates. Microsoft integrates everything, updating just as much, just as persistently. I need to check Sony' s and see if they have such a solution. My two priorities are getting WiiDS and 360. After that, save up for a Vista machine. Still, Peter is such a bore. Why does he continue to cheerlead in such boring fashion? Nintendo does have one negative now - they have to live up to my expectations. Edit: Oh. My. Goodness! Check out the ZAPPER for the Wii. Sure, it is merely a shell that redirects button presses to the appropriate buttons on the chuck and stick, but it is incredibly brilliant.

WHOA!!! A 25 page forum thread dedicated to the mere name of a console, which has nothing to do whatsoever with the performance or play of the console. I won' t complain as I have just contributed to it' s growth. I just don' t really get why it' s worth as much discussion as it has gotten. I mean I think it' s even better than the uncreative name PS# (although I don' t really think the where out to be cerative with it' s name) and the nerdy 360. I can' t really say that I am a fan of the name Wii but my reaction to it was about " Huh? Oh, so it' s Wii now. Kind of silly" and that was it. Nothing worth panicking about. Oh! And there where some who said they Would be embarrassed to buy a Wii (or something like that), and to that I' ll just say that the person needs to build up some confidence as nobody will judge you, and if you no matter what don' t want' t to use the name Wii, why not continue to referering it as the Revoultion/Rev. That is all.

Good Morning. The time is 8:50 AM here in Vaughan, Eastern Standard Time. Dood, this is not just about the name, but all things Wii. Does it play well? What titles are exceptional and which need work? Mario Galaxy. All that.

Dionysius, this is Nintendo here. The father of modern game consoles. My first, second and third console was one of Nintendo' s, I played those machines so much I was fucking raised by Nintendo! Even if Nintendo isn' t on top anymore they' re still the kings of innovation and are the only ones with the balls to do their own thing. Everyone else is trying to beat eachother at the same game, Nintendo stands out. No matter what happens, Nintendo will always remain the most interesting focuses of discussion between the three pillars of consoles. In terms of originality we have Nintendo and we have the rest. So its no wonder Wii is getting so much attention.

\ they raised us all - the ones that weren' t raised by Sega and Nintendo are punks who don' t know shit about fun - they started with PSX ,PS2 or PC so what can they know. thanks to Nintendo and Sega we know that 2 fuckin pixels can make you play all night - it just has to be fun.

Well Game Junkie, the same goes for me. I' ve owned every Nintendo console there has been (although I usually got them from my brother when he got bored of them) and the same goes for Game Boys (I think). And so you can see I have nothing against Nintendo or any other console, it' s just that I think it' s of no meaning to panic over the name of a machine, when it will do nothing to lessen its ability to deliver fun, entertaining playing. It' s all wether or not the actual console is any good or bad that matters to me. And I do stress that this is only what I think is of importance and that I do not require anyone to feel the same. I was only wondering why people thought it was the end of the world.

This thread started out as a thread to discuss the name, but now it is used mainly to discuss the features and other aspects of the console, as vdig stated. On another note, have any of you read about the Wii supporting web browsing with Opera? A thread was just started not long ago, but there weren' t many responses.

Couldn' t agree more ]GaNgStA[, your absolutely right! You dont need millions of polygons to enjoy a game. Ive had every Nintendo console since the NES and have loved every one. Im sick of listening to some F**king PS2 and Xbox owners who dont like Nintendo because their ' Kiddie' or are not ' cool' . These are the type of Sh**heads who go out and buy Fifa Street because its so ' Cool' while they wouldnt go near a game like Animal Crossing because it looks ' Kiddie' . Its people like these thats wrong with gaming today. As Game Junkie said Nintendo are ' the only ones with the balls to do their own thing' and should be admired and praised for that.
