Yeah, they both probably will equal the power of PS3 =0 Well, that' s not really true. If we look at the RSX, it' s ill suited for console usage, and will more then likely be starved by the cell set. And the cell set it' s self is not ending looking like sony said it would be. With it' s limited access to memory, and a lack of cache. It might end up sputtering on tasks most modern cpu take in stride. Not to say the xbox360 is much better, it too is risc. But for the most parts, it performs better as a whole. Just a correction.

ORIGINAL: whiteguysamurai Alright, this is not the kind of place for that attitude. If you two want to rouse each other, please do it elsewhere. If you have a real question or statment, let' s hear it? Attitude?! Come down of your high horse my friend and join the party! It' s all relative. However, if you don' t want to comment on his or my post then maybe you should jus go post in another thread or something... his behemoth of an organisation, wood never partake in questionable tactics?... ...is honourable, trustworthy and the complete opposite of those dictators at Sony, right??... Microsoft' s biggest sin was what? Trying to make people buy Media Centre PC' s to get the most out of 360 when XP compatability should have been sorted from the get-go?! or maybe Microsoft including Windows Media Player with Windows?! Erm, ...ok, so the Media Centre thing was a little out of order, but the claims that Microsoft have/had a monopoly with Windows Media Player/Outlook/Word, ...etc being included as standard in Windows is completely unfounded. The real issue is why developers of rival software don' t make it compatible with other operating systems. It' s not really down to Microsoft. I mean, Microsoft' s products are VERY good and Windows Media Player for example is one of the best media players available (VLC will play ANYTHING though!) and why shouldn' t they include it with Windows? Doesn' t it add more value for money? I don' t think anything Microsoft have ever done is on the scale of Sony BMG' s Digital Right Management scandal... Well, john carmack did say that cell and its core is better for handling things like MS word, excell and stuff like that then to handle things in games like physics and a.i However...i think cell is kick ass :P but im no dev,so i have no clue,if carmack is right or ken. Bye! Initially CELL was designed to handle everything. They weren' t going to include a GPU at all and were planning on rendering everythig using CELL. But CELL isn' t specifically for gaming, it' s being used in a whole host of other devices such as TV' s and Sony developed it to run multiple programs and calculations simultaneously. Since it' s excellent as doing complex calculations, it makes it perfect for handling physics and AI which is what developers will primarily use it for. When Sony saw Microsoft had a technically superior machine they quickly partnered with NVIDIA and had them tweak a commercially available graphics card to level the playing field as it were. Right now, nobody, even developers are quite certain which machine is capable of more. Theoretically 360 can produce higher quality visuals but PS3 can have more things on screen at any given time. It' s going to be interesting to see how XNA affects 360 development, especially with the inclusion on DirectX 10. Some developers prefer 360, and some prefer PS3, ...but that' s how these things work because different developer do things differently. A year after PS3' s launch, i' ll be looking at multi-format titles and comparing them. Right now though i just want to see what PS3' s launch titles look like. Yawn! It' s bedtime for me i think... REMEMBER, ...don' t talk to strangers. It can be hazardous to your health!

If you have a real question or statment, let' s hear it? ^^ ^^ ....back on topic: ......why am i not hearing about the actual amounts of 360 units sold for it' s first financial quarter?..... ....i' d really like to know how well 360 is doing in relation to xbox, PS2 and GC' s first months of release.... ...isn' t it the norm for mega-corporations to release such details on a quarterly basis?.... ....how else are we able to tell just how well a product is actually doing behind the fanaticism?........ ..kikizo? ..any of you lot know anything??.... Microsoft' s biggest sin was what? /ect.... ...this isn' t a bash M$ thread, and there are numerous accounts of shady tactics and underhand policies by BOTH Phony and Megaco$t (like being forced to purchase a whole new operating system just to play Halo 2 etc etc)... ....just try to leave the hypocrisy at the door, yes?....

I did post I was joking...here.. yea, except for that question. Overlooked it. And don' t take the first joke serious....It' s a joke.. Microsoft is the devil dude =o Keeping Halo all to themselves...of course it' s the greatest Shooter ever made...*cough* unreal tournament*cough* God I love Unreal. I love all these threads =) I also love the Microsoft love and Majik. I like ya. You go against everything everybody says with facts to back it up. Sometimes I can' t tell which side you are on and when I think I got it you backtalk something else. You rock man(not sarcasm):P But yeah I still hate Microsoft regardless if they have or haven' t done anything in the past. The blue screen of the death is the worst they have ever done to me and that beats any of Sony' s crap. =) You know if PS3 is gonna cost 600 dollars I should just save my money and go buy a Windows XP CD instead. With the price of the PS3 in my mind I had to think of the crappiest priced item and that' s the best I could come up with. Damn you Microsoft!

... Hahahahaha.... My affection is currently shared between Microsoft' s 360 (because i know stuff that hasn' t been announced yet), and Nintendo as a whole. Obviously, come November and PS3' s launch i' ll proably start to think Sony' s grass looks a little greener than Microsoft' s (maybe), but i WON' T be straying very far from Revolution during the holiday season, ...i forsee muchos partygame and funky fps action!!! Syro (i initially typed Spyro there... ), check you messages and you should find a message with a link. Follow it. Let me know what you think and i' ll change the layout etc accordingly!

(like being forced to purchase a whole new operating system just to play Halo 2 etc etc)... 1. That hasnt happend yet 2. If thats the case Sony, MS, and Nintendo are all evil for " forcing" you to buy something new to play new games. If you actually knew what you were talking about, Vista supposedly is a very good environment for programming games.

1. That hasnt happend yet 2. If thats the case Sony, MS, and Nintendo are all evil for " forcing" you to buy something new to play new games ^^ ^^ Facing the challenge of converting new users to its latest operating system, Windows Vista, Microsoft is placing its bets on the ace card that' s been responsible for its console successes and announced that the upcoming PC port of Halo 2 will run exclusively on Vista. Though there' s no signs so far of features unique to Vista that Halo 2 will utilize, or enhancements to the game itself (though it will ship with the optional map packs offered to Xbox players last year), leaving one to wonder just how mutually beneficial the relationship might be: without significant upgrades, will users clamor to purchase an entirely new operating system for what will be a two year old port at the time Vista is expected to be released? And, of course, it' s hard not to feel a pang at Bungie' s transition from Mac stalwart to Windows poster-boy. - Edge If you actually knew what you were talking about, Vista supposedly is a very good environment for programming games. .....if you took a minute to take that Micro$oft branded penis out of your mouth, you' d see that i didn' t make any comment on Vistas capabilities as an OS...

Boys, business is business. Microsoft aren' t evil. Everyone is trying to make as much money as possible and they are to. Even the things that appear to be nice are deep down only ways to get more money. I' m quite sure both Sony and Microsoft would kill people if it meant more money. But since people would stop buying their products that won' t happen. Microsoft are smart and are playing nice because it pleases customers. Of course Microsoft are using every possible way to sell as many software products as they can. They' re not forcing you to buy anything stupid! But if you choose to buy their products, it will be on their conditions since they created it. Let' s just hope Windows Vista is a good OS that' s worth buying.

But if you choose to buy their products, it will be on their conditions since they created it. I agree totally! And in more recent news, gasoline, the only mainstream means of fueling an automobile is up to $2.78 per-gallon in my part of the states. Ya don' t have to buy gasoline to own a car, but... just makin a point

I still haven' t seen an xbox 360 platinum available for purchase in any store. I usually see 1 to 3 of the $300 ones though.
