Added highlights. I think i might add a few more highlights and smooth out some of the fur and then add a weapon, maybe a spear if he' s part of the enemy ranks (like a guard).

The way i imagine the army, humans go for standard soldiers, where as monters goes for either some officers or chained brutes to be unleashed when your own troops are safe!

He looks great Majik

Majik, are you using photoshop to do that? It looks like it has a watercolour
finish, it also has the air of Shadow of the Colossus; overall great pic!

Ngggghhhhh!!!! AARRRGGHHHH!!!!

I' m torn between doing stuff for my personal game development website and doing VX' s idea...

That' s why I have been so slow with updating this thread..

I' ll put some colour images up tonight, I' ll try to update this thread every 2 days now.

VX, when my website goes up (around October-November time) is it ok if I put
some of the concept work up on it as " work in progress" along with my other project ideas?

That' s it. Part of me want to add some crisp hard lines but part of me thinks it' d ruin the effect so i' ll leave it like this.

Of course you can put stuff up on your own site! It' s your own work!

Shadow of the Colossus and Ico are kinda inspiring the idea in my head, though i never played either game, i love the art direction in them! very moody!

Yeah but i don' t use Photoshop as a drawing tool very often. It' s quick and i have a really nice selection of brushes and i' ll need to use it more this year so i' m kinda practicing.

I' m still not 100% happy with it but the only thing i can think of is to print it, touch it up by hand with ink and pen and then scan it. I' m itching to move onto something else now though.

SotC?! Yeah i can see that. It wasn' t quite what i was aiming for but i can see what you mean. I was aiming for something you might see in a future Zelda game, that kind of thing. Still, SotC' s creatures were amazing so yay!

Thanks, yeah I know the characters are my drawings, but the concept is yours
that' s why I was asking for permission.. The game will have it' s own section on
my site, when it' s up I' ll let you guys know, and you can officially check out some of my other ideas.

Majik, anyway you' d be able to put hard lines on that image, just to see what it
may look like, it would bring it forward a bit.. Just to see...

Same here, photoshop is more my touching up tool and photo manipulation..

I don' t usually start a drawing from the ground up in photoshop, most of the time
I colour in pencils, as there are some shading techniques you can' t get with
photoshop, and then I' ll touch it up in Photoshop.

If I need to see the colour schem of some things, I will do a quick " colour fill"
in Photoshop...

Maybe all future Zelda games will look like SotC..

So any ideas on a game name? Or atleast a working title for it?

maybe the girls name as the title.... say

Ameera
Lost Empire

Considering its a persian inspired culture, i choose an arabic name, Ameera means princess in Arabic

Ameera?

.... I like it..

The Lost Empire? Hmmm.. Too much Indiana Jones in it..

I' m hopeless with sub-headings..

The sub heading should always have something to do with the story, if it' s a Lost
Empire, I' d assume that she' s looking for a Lost Empire, or she lives in a Lost
Empire.

Then I would think...

If she lives in a Lost Empire, why can everyone find it?

I think it' s too early to think of a title now actually... We should see what features
pop up along the conceptual side and what parts of the story are most
influential, I believe the name of the game should always be towards the
end (sometimes) of the initial development..

ofcourse, the name shouldnt be finalized untill the end of a game! I meant lost empire as in her empire is a lost cause! Could be Broken Empire also! But title aside, the girls name should henceforth be known as Ameera!

Shall Mr. Brute have a name?

If he remains nameless, we could really play on that in the story..

**Thinks**

He would still need a name in the end..

Creasy?

I used to use photoshop to draw with, start to finish, and at some point corel painter. I started of with lined art >PS colour. then PS for it all.

These days I just love colour pencils, but don' t draw much at all.

hmm I' ll post a pic i lined a few years ago and coloured on photoshop by mouse, after i progressed to a tablet.

I was joking about Creasy.lol That' s the name of Denzel Washington
in Man on Fire..

This idea just gets better and better. We need a main plot now..

Wasn' t Marink doing that? Where in f*ck has he gone?

Well, I could write it myself actually, it would just be a lot more manageable
if Marink did it..

I thought of a BRILLIANT way to start it, give me a week and I can give you
some storyboards. Or better yet, if you do the main story and then we can throw
some ideas into it... That would probably be better, just so that the rest
of us aren' t overworked...

I' d feel much better than I already do (and I feel great) about this idea if
someone could pop in and say...

" I have a proposition on how we can obtain an engine!"

It would sweeten the deal so0o0o nicely.

I' m actually more of a Paintshop Pro kimda guy. I do use Photoshop a lot but i hardly ever use it to draw in. I love to use pencil and pen but digital artwork usually has a better effect these days and if you want to be a game artist then you must know how to use a couple of industry grade packages.

Erm, there are tons of source codes available. It kinda depends on what you have in mind.

I can still use Photoshop, but I prefer to only use it for it' s touching up purposes,
just so that " my style" can be noticed still..

What did you use for this

Majik?

When it comes to programming, I am a bit clueless (numbers and all that make
my head spin). SO it' s that easy to obtain a source code huh?
