I' ve been planning an online collaboration, or ' clan ' homepage for some time now.

I want to build a small ' game building ' community, which one day might go on to work on indy titles, but at present would help me brush up on my producer / management skills!

It would be a place you could call home for the project, as well as others of mine, which one day might come to something, including ' aegis ' a kewl mobile phone game concept I' ve had for a long time!

The clan is unoficially dubbed " idaten " after the original Ninja clan from the 1700' s. It will be very flashy when it is done, am working on the macromedia flash with my bro at the weekends at present.

Want it to be a real project? I can recomend lesser well known game engines etc.. and more than anything it would be a great place to recruit talented people from for our projects.

It seems to make sense attaching these ideas to some sort of brand / umbrella group if we ever had to project them. There is one game idea I came up with 5 years that no-one has copied yet that im too scared to tell ayone. Until this site is live and I can call it an official " project " for the future...

Oh VX, here' s a little picture I did for Ameera to include what you asked for.
Just concentrate on the hair, the circlet idea and the face of Ameera, the clothes
were fine until I couldn' t decide what colours to put on, so I am still working that out, I have also only stuck to colouring pencils, the big grey background was
done in MS paint. I haven' t used colouring pencils for ages, so the next
pic should be a lot better. Please excuse the unfinished hand and boots, and
other various parts of the image.

I' ll also get onto some concept art for the Shadow as well.

I think until there is an official site up for our ideas, this thread will be the home
for this particular idea.

Vx, do you still want long-flowing hair, or should it be shorter?

Andy you should have included the cool background on the " idaten " clan you sent me. I would have posted it but i deleted the message yesterday...

Here is a concept for the shadow, it has probably been done before.. I have no
idea how to describe it really, I just drew it based on what I suggested to VX..

In case you haven' t read, I suggested to VX that the Shadow should be about
the same age as Ameera, as that was the vibe I was getting from reading
his backdrop.

I have a website going up in October for all my projects, the only problem is
it' s under it' s own name..

The Shadow Concept..


Anyone feel free to PM me anything that I have missed out, and also I think we
should start swapping MSN' s as Andy suggested, would be a better way to keep in touch..

The Shadow' s brute? Because I really like how you did this pic. What did you use?

If you could make him more ethereal, I reckon it could work...

I think everybody else who is involved in this should put their MSN down. That way

wow i read these pages nice idea i like it, my freind is making a futuristic game of his own if i can get him on this forum he might be able to give u even better ideas into developing and posibly with enough perseverance for a while u could get this published!

Yeah, only because when I draw a character, I need a little story/concept behind it
and if it' s my own, I kinda already know, I haven' t designed characters for other
people, I' ve only ever done my own, or collaborated with people. So designing
Vx' s Ameera is my first time..

Well i know what you mean. But translating information your given by others into a character is something that game artists need to be able to do. You it appears have a gift for just that. I can' t even offer any critism.

Did you use any references?!

I didn' t use any references, that being said, there' s about 2 pics before that
one that started off well then turned out bad. I keep my bad pictures so I know
never to draw like that again!

I now know I can do that if I generally think the idea will turn out well. (Thankfully
Vx seems to have a winner here!)

If it was a ba idea, I' d still try the design though... I now see why people say some
games have poor character design; that game is always crap...

Majik regarding my research for idaten , I' ll post it all up as soon as I return.

This project is really exciting, has anyone thought about how you would like to see it realised?

I mean you could even use rpg maker xp or similar and make a traditional Final Fantasy 1-6 style game, it would allow you to put more emphasis onto the narrative and keep the game from spiralling out of control.

With that said the first PSP game made using the virtools plugin has been released too. Virtools is used for rapid prototyping normally, but there are xbox1 and psp port plugins for it.

Really depends on who can be recruited as a coder for the project, I' ll certainly help where I can with the production but the music interests me as a persian soundtrack is something I have never written before!
