I have a good image of the characters in my mind! the brute should be in somewhat half destroyed plate armor, very big, i imagine him standing with the girl holding her wrist (more like her whole underarm) while she is kinda sagging a bit in her knees, (viewing them from the back) In his other hand he has a big scythe like sword, and infront of them an army filled wasteland! I wish i could draw, but i cant :P

As soon as I have finished work, I' ll do some designs and post them up... Also if I can think of gameplay and mechanics for it, I may try to add it to my list of projects... ORIGINAL: Marink Why don' t you give a few examples of your own first. I have in total 10 projects: One 4-part Action RPG, possibly a 5th part if the fourth doesn' t answer enough questions. 4 action game ideas, one is a spin off of the 5-part one and the other two are post apocalyptic projects concerning discrepancies with the God' s and includes some ideas that may gravely upset the vatican. The last idea is a ninja-stealth game that combines elements of Ninja Gaiden and Splinter Cell, and a japanese ninja' s problems with the american government. Another one is an MMORPG, heavily based on features in the 5-part Action/RPG. Already, I have pitched the idea to my (7-man ) team who agree that the aspect of it sounds very addictive; the main theme to it is a deeper more thoughtful version of territorial control. That' s 5 ideas and 10 projects.. It' s gonna be a loooong 10 years..

Yep, like that, i also imagine it the other way around, say he is the one, lying with numerous wounds on the ground, with her sitting by his side tending him!

Hmmm... that makes for better drama.. I' ll draw 2 concepts and see.. Anyone else have any ideas they wanna throw about? (Can you imagine if one of the lesser game developers are viewing this thread and hoovering our ideas up?!)

I wouldnt mind! they can just contact me and pick my brain, all id want was my name in the credits and a job as a story editor The second idea, sorta pits her more in the center of the game, than the first one does! Maybe i should just learn to program and il lmake the game :P

Yeah, the second idea puts her more in the story, and the first puts her in the story but coated in mystery, either way it works. So she' s a princess of a Kingdom right?

I agree, in most of my ideas the ratio for girls to guys is 4:2. My main character is a female. I think the daughter to a king is more fitting, as a duaghter to a sorcerer doesn' t really leave much to the imagination as anything could go wrong. If she' s the daughter of a respectable Kingdom, then when something goes wrong people are left shocked if she takes a turn for the worse. Hmm, I' m gonna have fun working with this concept, any other ideas VX that you have, or is this the only one.. I think I should work on this one first, and then put it up, and then work from there. (All you lowly game developers watching... go away and think of your own IP! ) Then watch them take the idea just to be spiteful..

I had just written all this as my pc rebooted, so ill do it again! I have another idea, the main player is a merchant, travelling to town with his merchandise, his family with him, as he is attacked by bandits, everyone is slain! despite that the merchant wakes up the following day, a voice talking to him, though inside his head, calling him worthless a fool! commanding him to get up to seek vengeance! The voice guiding him through the game, seeking out the people who caused his misfortune and even having an agenda of its own, while the main character struggles to discover the nature of the voice, is it a demon or is he just growing insane! The game style should be 3rd person, stealth/combat, its a low magic univers! A semi horror game. Its not as good as the first idea, but id still like to play, it could obt for a lot of twists!

Perhaps the voice could be the darkness within him, trying to escape from it' s flesh prison. However, in order to do this, it must try to persuade the merchant to follow its orders. This could mean that the player must have to make their own decisions throughout the game, which will affect the merchant and his very life later in the game. For instance, if one chooses to take the dark path, then later on in the game the merchant will become extremely powerful, yet the player(and thus, the merchant) will have very little control of the merchant' s body, who will lash out at innocent people, etc at random times- meaning he will be more than likely to be ambushed by people of higher status, if you know what I mean. That' s just one example, though. If you don' t understand it, be sure to ask.

Hehe, I guess great minds think alike, eh? Anyway, another example of an effect of choosing to carry out the voice' s orders could be that the player will be forced to roam around in the darkness for a while to survive or something. Anywhooo, if you are ever interested, I' d be more than happy to be in charge of the script writing for either game(unless you want to, of course).

Are games expensive because of the need to pay people? If so... I am SOOO set.. There' s obviously the need of development tools etc... Paths in games are very, VERY risky. If it' s on;y done half-arsedly, a lot of negative feedback will be received from gamers, but if you' re going to give someone choice, you should make it for dialogue just to be safe, but if you can guarantee depth in the choices, then a choice of paths is definitely a good idea.
