There are loads of games with brilliant soundtracks. I particularly liked the old 16-bit Sonic titles for quality tunes. If I had to choose one song featured in a game which stood out above all others though, it would have to be the Shenmue theme in Shenmue 1 on Dreamcast. Just phenomenal! The whole game had good music but that one piece was ace. Very emotional and suited the scene at the end of the game where Ryo sails away on the ship prefectly.

without a doubt it' s one winged angel. That' s the final boss music for sephiroth in FF VII. That music was amazing, I don' t know why they don' t do something like that again

" Overworld" in FFX. It' s the beginning scene when Tidus is playing Blitzball.

It' s Nobuo Uetmatsu' s(the composer for Square) band " The Black Mages" , who are wildly popular in Japan.

MGS has allways had a good souindtrack, and i loved the max payne 2 title music suited it so well. But their has never been a game that i played which i actully stoped the game and said " that music rocks" that will be the day when a games music will reach a new level.

Oh and whoever asked about the pop2 music, that was made a a rock band called Godsmack " I stand alone" and " on the line" ? i think it was around that one. I stand alone sticks in your mind.

Most of the Legend of Zelda series have excellent music in them. Nobody can argue that Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time is the best out of all of them.

I believe Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy X, and Dead or Alive 2 have some of the best music/songs I' ve ever heard.

A really great in-game song was Lunar I' s Boat song. Wind' s Nocturne I think it was called.

I love the music from Silent Hill 4 and Hitman 3 (Jasper Kydd kicks ass). I love the Indy selection from Amped 1&2.

My current favourite videogame music (not include the awesome Ridge Racers soundtrack) is DIRE DIRE DOCKS from Mario 64 (DS) -- as in, the water levels.
