I find it weird when people say they ' ' couldn' t understand' ' shenmue....

Usually they haven' t bothered to have the patience to play it...

I' ll admit it is a bit daunting for people that love instant action...

I like instant action but I also love a well structured unfolding story that has great linking between characters, themes and landscape (I loved the fact that you got to travel,....... and get a job...and buy the old man a coffee so he would teach you a move).

one of the things that made enjoy shenmue so much was that you could enjoy it even without going on with the storyline...enjoy the sunset...catch the bus to the harbour...practice some moves ...play at the arcade

and best of all...do it in japan...

dobuita for instances is pretty much like the real dobuita in japan

I know!!!! I use to love the way the old lady use to say ' ' sakurugaoka' ' ...practiscing was ace aswell...the thig I kinda hated about part two was the areas (especially near wise men quarters) felt a bit like a maze sometimes but apparently it' s modelled on the actual place itself....so I don' t think i' ll be visiting there anytime soon.

By the way (off topic) what is everyones favourite area in shenmue?. I like lishao tao' s temple and the park where the blind old guy practices cos they' re really bright and colourful.

p.s.- it´s good to see that a shenmue thread has more than 2000 views...it may be old but it´s still kicking
