And Frii Sports is Garbage, if it wasnt free do you really think anyone in their right mind would buy it? Yes, the Japanese. It' s still in fourth place. The rest of the charts is practically DS only. http://www.vgcharts.org/japweekly.php

Put simply, there are way more idiots in this world then there are people with sense, whichever console comes out on top plays host to the most retards... It' s that easy.

You sound like you would like the movie Idiocracy. Finally he convinced them to use water on the plants by convincing him that he could speak to plants. Haha, that was a trip.

Yes, the Japanese. It' s still in fourth place. The rest of the charts is practically DS only. The japanese are crazy, keep that in mind. I don;t mean that as an insult, I love the culture, the products, and the cars. However, the products they purchase and the games they play don' t reflect North America or Europe by a long shot.

I think the problem here is that the Wii is designed to be accessible fun for anyone to enjoy - they aren' t aiming it at angst fuelled teenagers and clearly that has upset and confused some of the limited young minds on here. This may come as a shock to some of you, but most ' real' grown-ups, and especially non-gamers, aren' t all that interested in an FPS bloodbath, in fact, they would most likely consider it to be juvenile trash, so if you' re labouring under the illusion that GOW or such like is somehow more ' mature' than Wii Sports then I' m afraid you still have some growing up to do. I' ve owned a 360 since launch and the only game that' s really engaged me is PES6, maybe PGR3 as well. The main problem is that once you get over the pretty visuals and scratch beneath the surface you discover that you' re actually just playing the same old games that you' ve been playing for the past ten years. The lack of innovation is depressing. People aren' t buying the Wii because they' re interested in the latest HDRI lighting or whatever. They' re buying it because it offers something which is fun and NEW that they can enjoy with their friends and socialise with.

The thing is, all of us went over to his place to play it, and after doing that 2 or 3 times we all got bored. Now when we feel like gaming, we all end up either at my place on the ps3/pc' s or at my buddies with his 360. Maybe in a year the Wii will have some great titles for us to play, but as of now it doesn' t, and I would way rather play sports titles on the PS3 or 360 rather than the wii.

They' re buying it because it offers something which is fun and NEW that they can enjoy with their friends and socialise with. We' re not even talking about the maturity ratings of the games. You' re completely missing the point. It' s about the quality of the consoles and the value they have. I said this before, new gamers are attracted to Wii because it' s CHEAP and they don' t know what' s in it. Even if they are attracted to the controller, a controller has never carried a console and it never will. At best it' s a novelty, at worst it' s a gimick. It' s not even about the games because Gimp has nothing. Saying Wii has no mature rated games is like saying that there is no violence in a desert. The only decent game it has now is Zelda TP, a game developed for and also released on GameCube. A perfect flagship title for Wii, the same shit you can play on the a 6 year old console. Get used to it, we' re going to see a lot of old junk on Wii.

I' m still failing to understand how Double Agent could look worse on Wii than Chaos Theory did on Xbox.

Dagashi, apologies for my over enthusiastic I posted previously, i got a little too involved there, for that i am sorry. Anyway i' ll agree to disagree with you on this point. I feel that what Wii offers now and potentially in the future offered me excellent value for money. That includes the possibilities of the Wiimote, Nintendo AAA titles (Mario, Smash Bros, Prime, New Zelda etc) and the fact that i can enjoy a game or two with my parents (who have never been remotely interested in games before) when they drop by, to me thats all the value i could ever hope for. Remember value isn' t always measured the same way by everyone (the technical aspect of a console matters to you but to say casual gamer it may be irrelevant). The fact that the Wii, with very little going for it is currently out selling consoles (the 360 and the ps3) show that people see alot value in what the Wii has to offer, even though the Wii cost only US$50 less then for the 360 core, hell people even see value in the 6-7 year old ps2 as it has many times outsold superior consoles like the 360 and ps3. For you your needs are different so i guess the Wii doesn' t offer you ' good value' . Thats perfectly understandable. But for many, including myself, the Wii offers more then enough value.

ORIGINAL: Nitro I' m still failing to understand how Double Agent could look worse on Wii than Chaos Theory did on Xbox. I hate Ubisoft, those pr**ks released crap (well mediocre games like Red Steel, and crap like Farcry and Double agent) and profited from jumping on the Wii bandwagon early. I was hoping that Ubisoft would be beneficial for the Wii, but alas. I' ll steer clear of Ubi games until i see them released some real quality titles, like Assassins Creed for 360/ps3. Until that time F**K U Ubi

This thread was started not to slam the Wii' s technical capabilities. People were supposed to see that the only thing really holding the Wii back right now is great 3rd party games. Once they get some really good 3rd party games, people will see the real Wii. Right now we haven' t seen anything on the Wii that has taken advantage of the systems capabilities. In a year or 2 we will, and that is when, I believe, people will change their opinion about the Wii. Why smash the Wii' s technical capabilities? Why does everyone sound so shocked about how the Wii lacks compared to the 360 or PS3? Everyone knew this!!!! Devs knew this!!!! When you buy a Wii you know exactly what you are getting, and you shouldn' t bitch after the fact. I guess maybe one thing Nintendo did poorly, was marketing the Wii to devs before they launched the Wii. Maybe Nintendo now needs to work on the devs, and get them on board with the Wii, making exclusives and not just ports.

Oh the exclusives are coming and i' d gander that Wii has as many exclusive titles in development as PS3 does right now. The problem is that there are no worthy games before Q3 this year. 360 has a rubbish 2nd quarter last year, and PS3 will probably suffer during the summer, but 360 and PS3 will see more worthwhile games than Wii before late August. Well, put it this way. 360 and PS3 will arguably have/will have had [exclusive] killer apps in a shorter timespan than Wii. And no, Twilight Princess doesn' t count.

Yes, 3rd party Developer’s are being Lazy and Porting PSP / PS2 games or having their Second or even third Teams make little Wii Projects just to make quick money for themselves and their publishers. What Wii needs are the 1st teams of 3rd party developers to sit down and think up original, Unique games that Only the Wii / Wiimote can possibly handle. Just like the Tons of original DS games that could never be replicated on the PSP hardware interface. I Have three potentially BIG ideas for Wii games that i' m currently working on, which i will Put forward to Nintendo in a Few months time (If they keep their promise of making time to see my presentation). The Wii has So much potential, Nintendo should Meet half way with other Publishers and 3rd party Developers and talk about Risk issues, even meeting halfway on funding if possible. Risk issues is one of the main reasons why third Parties are hesitant on putting big resources / First Teams on Wii projects. One of Nintendo’s focuses in this area is helping with marketing support (Reggie was discussing this at GDC). Marketing support is all good. What Nintendo Also needs to do is work with / endorse 3rd Parties to get Publishing Deals and in return ask for the 3rd parties to put their strong teams on a Wii project, to create at least 1 or 2 unique Wii games made from ground up each year. This is very much how Nintendo (with the DS), Microsoft and Sony have been doing things.
