He is just joking. A HDTV ready and a HDTV COMPITABLE TV must support 720p output and 1080i in analog and digital which mine does. Also my tv support the blue-green-red component, however you need a extra decoder to it then. Instead the manual recommend me to get a VGA adapter if i need VGA output. for HD on some kind of HD PLAYER like something that play games. Hint- 360 i guess...

Don' t mean to doubt such a wise one as yourself Evil, but do you have proof? I even googled it to humour you but only found things to the likeness of " component is required for progressive scan" (forgiving digital connections of course) So Show me where you are getting your info from, I do use pro scan via ps2, and unless Component is used, it doesn' t work... hell, maybe your just magical and can make everything work?

hell dude go to sony' s ps2 website or even hdtvarcade forum where both places inform unknowledgeable users such as yourself that a component cable is required for progressive can playback. Also, dude, the thickness of your skull is incredible, RCA or composite, as it is for the video is crap. All the video signal is sent through one analog pin. Component is also RCA but splits the colour into 3 pins, a bit like an RGB scart, but better. Now please dispute it all you want, keep your head under a rock and continue to make yourself look like the biggest fool possible, fine with me.

http://www.gamespot.com/features/6139690/p-2.aspx " Component video uses three wires to pass the video signal into the television display, and allows for higher resolutions like 480p, 720p, and 1080i. You can actually use old RCA cables in place of real component cables in a pinch, but keep the cable as short as possible to minimize the image degradation caused by an impedance mismatch. The full Xbox 360 system includes a complete set of component and composite video cables." That took me 30 seconds to find, you must not be very clever at searching for things on the net. Especially something that is COMMON FUCKING SENSE AND EVERYONE KNOWS. Now go fucking kill yourself dipshit.

ORIGINAL: Evil Man Now go fucking kill yourself dipshit. Isn' t it funny how we feel so differently about each other, so your article there helped me to prove something. Thanks. Why would any one release a 480p tv without component. Your article states clearly, to keep the regular rca cable short to minimize the image degradation. Meaning it is not a good pro scan image even when it is short, because it isn' t designed to support pro scan. So why would a maufacturer release a pro scan tv where the progressive scan feature is a crappy botch job if you can' t afford a working cable? I should go and kill myself for something you said, please dude, I don' t think that highly of you. I see you add these things to counter my previous message. Sorry I hope I didn' t hurt your feelings. Have a pleasant afternoon/evening/night.

Your article states clearly, to keep the regular rca cable short to minimize the image degradation. Meaning it is not a good pro scan image even when it is short, because it isn' t designed to support pro scan. You said component was REQUIRED for progressive scan - it is not, if you have a high quality RCA cable it will work perfectly, no need to keep it short or anything, I know because I' ve actually done it and don' t talk out of my ass like you do. It makes sense to release a 480p TV with only RCA inputs because if you go buy any RCA cable worth more than 20 dollars it will display 480p perfectly, if you have a 99 cents RCA cable you might need to keep it short to maintain quality, otherwise it works fine.
