I would actually be tempted to even though the Wii is my highest priority.

I' m buying PS3 anyway as i expected the high pricetag. The machine will be worth it in the long run, even if it isn' t worth £425 at launch.

If it was released at a lower price then obviously more people would buy it, and i think Sony would catch up and overtake Microsoft by early 2008 (after the 2007 holiday), as long as they could keep the number of manufactured units per month high.

It' s still not been confirmed whether the UK is getting the core PS3 anyway.

Yep. March 2007.

By then Heavenly Sword and other games that will miss the US and Japanese launches will probably be released.

I' m pretty sure the price will go down in EU too and HDMI is very important to me.They really did a good job with this.This will pay off.

But I would never get any system made by Sony on launch day - same goes for MS.

I wouldn' t actually get any system on launch day unless it' s made by Nintendo.

The funny thing about PS3 is that people got used to this extreme 500$ price tag for HDMIless model and it feels so cheap to be able to get it for 430$ and with HDMI now.

Now this BD drive truly shines - it' s a great advantage to have it build in at the same price as competing DVD based console.

I want to know how are they cooling this thing - I' t unbelievable that it is so silent (and I for once don' t doubt it when Factor5 says so).

How did it happen? they did everything wrong from the start (maybe except some funky propaganda at E3 ' 05) and now the launch day is coming and it seems to me like this is the best value for money.

I' m actually disappointed in Nintendo - the release date is later than I hoped and it' s not as cheap as I wanted it to.

I was sure they will be the No 1 this time.

Last time I played most games on Xbox instead of PS2 because many games were the same but with better visuals.This time there won' t be any difference.

Microsoft made one amazing thing - at least I think they did , but I' ll be sure in a year or two.

They made Sony try harder.

The end result could be a truly great system.

I' d never expect me to say this , not untill this price drop and HDMI addition ofc.Those games were looking better every time , but it wasn' t enough to justify 500/600$.

This is the way a thread should be.... I was always going to get a PS3, the main
perk about me getting one that I keep harping on about is that I am almost
close to making a saving of £200.00 on it!

If the cheaper version were to be released in UK, I would almost get it free!

In the long run, each console is going to have that series of Killer apps, the only
difference this time around is that M$ is seeing a fairer share and is not a 2
game console.

2006-2007 is a great time to be a gamer.

when you look at games 360 won' t have any competition until at least march 2007.

That' s worldwide - European launch will at least have many titles (VF5!!!!!!!!!).

I don' t know about Wii cause the only game that kills Gears of War,Oblivion and all the others for me is Zelda , but it' s just this one title and it won' t last more than 2 weeks.

And I can play this game 5 years from now and it would still kick my ass, so it could wait.

I hate it when I see the end credits in Zelda games... I' m totally satisfied but I always think ...shit now I have to wait at least 5 years for the next one.

Nintendo are playing a lot of their big guns in 2007 (Metroid, Mario, Zelda,
Smash Bros Brawl)

I know that they generally don' t release the next serious installment of these
franchises until the next console rolls around..

What do they do in between that time?

Mario Party, Mario Striker, Warioware, Donkey Konga, Mario Golf, Mario Hoops etc.

Metroid Prime 3 is supposed to be the last entry in the series. I wonder what Nintendo will do with Metroid in the future and what projects Retro Studios will work with. Retro studios is an amazing studio!
