Everybody has a favorite console, everybody has a favorite company, sure you might not be a idiot fanboy, but you like to support that company logicaly. And are not afraid to admit falts Or you can be a completely blind fanboy who has the magicly power to defy logic [playstation? more like the gaystation!] Perhaps your a Sega/Atari or any of those former compnays that nobody really cares about anymore Tell the world! Spread the Word!

Well, there was a time shortly after sega stopped making dreamcasts, i was in the market for a new console. But who had the sega titles i wanted? I still felt guilty about buying a ps2 when they came out, and seeing as at the time, they had no sega goodness.. The gamecube had some sega goodness, but nothing i didn' t already have on the dreamcast. I was stuck, till panzer dragoon orta came out.. And it was settled... I wouldn' t consider myself a Microsoft console fan, if sega were to come back from the grave, i would dump my xboxes like a bad habit. But as it stands, the xbox is the friendliest snake in this pit of vipers.

EDIT- That was a joke, by the way. You sure? Your Avatar looks a lot like something from Luigi' s Mansion... Does being a Shenmue supporter count? I wouldn' t say fanboy because I know neither of the big 3' s consoles are perfect, but, if we are talking about where most of my favourite franchises are, then I stick with X-box. But as a reject Sega fan, (searching for a rebound console) I found myself knocking on the big M' s door because of Jet Set radio of the future... That' s kinda what made me wanna play an X-box.. Edit: So what are you SilentBomber? Your Avatar screeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaammmmmmmmmmsssss Sony.. but I can' t quite think why.lol Maybe I am wrong...

I' m a Sony fan. I dont really like the word fanboy as I think boy dont add anything to the word. The first console I got was the Playstation, and it has brought nothing but joy into my home ever since.

I' m a Sony-fan, Nintendo-fan and Sega-fan because I really appreciate their products. With the 360 I might eventually become a Microsoft-fan. I like the fact that as a fan you can like every company as long as you think their products or ideas are good. And you also have the ability to criticise those companies. Fans can be very open minded. As a fanboy you really are loyal to only one company regardless of that companys mistakes and you never criticise them and you never listen to what others believe. That' s really stupid.

I dont really like the word fanboy as I think boy dont add anything to the word. Fanboy = Someone that is too immature to understand and point out the reasonings why the figure they support is not necessarily as good as they have perceived. The boy part means two things: - You have yet to grow up and understand, and the thing you support is your idol, your stronghold and your fort, and you feel safe around it. (It also means that you idolize it like a boy idolizes something/someone he looks up to; you are also quick to defend without logical reasoning.) - It also means that you will get into petty arguments (like a boy in a playground) and defend the thing you love most with familiar sayings like " My toy is better than yours, but I can' t give a reason." And when you are asked for a reason, it' s usually met by something like " B-b-because it' s good, and I have 1 because he has 1. (The inability to think on one' s feet, and develop a backbone, but instead go with the masses.) That is usually described as boyish behaviour. So the word fanboy is extremely appropriate. Fan on the other hand is something you support maturely AND rationally. If the person/company does something wrong, you will understand and come to grips and disapprove with their ethics, and you will go elsewhere because you understand that, that person is no longer who you once thought he/she was. On the other hand if they do something deceptive, and you are like, " that' s alright" then you are a fanboy and not a fan, otherwise you would be able to morally judge the situation and decide not to follow, and make the conscious choice which is " do you really believe what they are doing?" So, I wouldn' t say Cetra that you are a fan, but more a fanboy to be honest. Do with that info what you will. EDIT: A more detailed version of Ginjirou' s approach..

But to become a fan, you have to do research and enlight yourself with facts. And based on those facts and achievement you become fond of, you eventually become a fan. Is there people at all that become fans blindly of something? I as a fan look at the deep aspects and achievments. Before I became a fan, I was hugely sceptic about what I was a fan of, and when my sceptisism had been quenched and satisfied, i became a fan. Based on your description, I am a fan. I look at things objectively, but always when the masses go for something, I question it.

I used to be a Sega fanboy. I still have my SEGA CD/32x sitting in the closet. 1 console, 3 power inputs. A monument to inefficiency if there ever was one, and I loved it. Then they went away. I was empty. Lost. Bereft of my Sega fix, I thought there was nowhere to turn. I mean, Sega made VF4 exclusive to friggin' Sony.... SONY!!!! The gaming gods had died, and I fell. I got myself a Playstation2. I bought a XBOX on launch day. I bought a gaming PC... So many sins against SEGA. Then, when I was at my lowest, there came...enlightenment. I realized the truth...I like games. No matter who makes them, I like games. These days I have my favorite developers, but I' m not fanatically loyal to anyone anymore. There' s just too much stuff out there. I' ve found peace. Dual-shock still sucks though, so screw Sony.

I read it perfectly well. However, nomatter how nice you put it, it can never be a complete accurate description of what a fan shall be. If there was one, that would basically mean each fan in the world act the same way about everything. Like questioning when a company does something wrong? Disapprove with their ethics? How about seing what they wanted to accomplish instead? People like you tend to always to the bad sides of things if there are any. Like the Sony controller. According to your description I would be morally disagreeing with Sony. Well I' m not. What I think is that they want to give us motion sensing too, and if you look at it, after Myamotos own words, they arent copying Nintendo at all. Its a completely different side of the motion sensing technology.

I don' t like limiting myself, but that said I always go for the system that has the games I really want to play and for me it' s always been a bit of a mix....snes...saturn....dc. But the ones that have been consistent as in I always get one eventually is nintendo and recently ms.
