Awesome! I have a great idea for a Jesus video game. You play as Jesus. The game is in 3D. Multiple enemies surround you. You must defeat them! Once you do that, more enemies surround you, and you must defeat them.

Oh wait, I just described 85% of all 3D games in the world. Ahhh!!! 3D has NOT improved gameplay! Jesus help me!

ooh, ooh, does anyone remember Bible Adventures for the NES? I loved that game, you could throw baby Moses in the water and drown him.
-Im goin to hell for sayin that, arent I-
Really though, I doubt that there is a large demand for christian videogames.

I was at a PC convention in Nashville once and I found a really weird game there. It was something like Morrowind, but you played as like an Angel or something. It was in the bargain section too. I don' t remember much about it except that I picked it up, laughed at the back of the box, and put it back down. I' ve known games like that are out there but it' s always a shock when you find one, at least for me it is.

I think only non-religious people like me could seriously create a great religious game. Here' s how my game would turn out:

Characters
You' d start by naming your main protagonist, choosing his/her height/weight, strength and defense abilities, etc. Then you would choose your character' s religion. You magic abilities would be based on your religion. For instance, when fighting an enemy you could summon Jesus and He appears to toss crosses and nails at your opponent, knocking off nearly 100HP! When you recruit more characters, they will be of a different religion. Be careful when doing your summons, or the two different Gods will fight each other instead of the enemy! Once your character reaches a certain level, you will be able to tweak your religion to better suit your personal agenda.

Story
The story of the game is pretty simple. You set out on a quest to prove to the world that evolution and science are wrong. As you defeat enemies (anyone who is not a member of your religion), you must " save" them by converting them to your religion. Even though members of your own party can be of different religions as stated above, players are asked to ignore that glaring plot hole. Players will ignore it just like they ignore contradictions and illogic within their own religions, so there are no worries!

Ummm yeah. I' m running out of ideas. Sounded better when I first started thinking about it. Now I am bored. Oh well. :)

I really REALLY want to see a Mortal Kombat-esque fighting game called " Religious Superstars" .

There would be blood, dismemberment, fatalities, etc just like any Bible story.

You could choose from various religious superheroes like:
Jesus
Moses
God
Jesus' Twin Brother Bob (color swap with regular jesus character, just like the ninjas in MK)
Jerry Fallwell
Robert Tilton

And a whole bunch of other characters!

The graphics would be digitized from the real people/entities involved, just like Mortal Kombat! It would also be released by everybody' s favorite company, Acclaim!

immortaldanmx, i thought of Bible Adventures immediately when I saw this topic. What a great game.

I guess I could see a market for Christian videogames. Though I like Joe' s game concepts, they sound fun.

I think a good model for a Christian game would be KOTOR. It could even be set in a fantastical world. Your decisions decide whether your swaying from God' s teachings and entertaining the dark side, or becoming a better Christian.
