Give or take a few months. Course the new one you get back will more than likely brake down too you know...

Yeah, I suggest you buy a PS3 if you want dependable hardware that won' t break down, Sony is a company you can trust unlike the crooks at Microsoft.

So far my 360 works fine when I use it.
Maybe because I barely use it at all

I Wouldnt be as mad as I am now if only i knew what happened to my 360. its just i was playing it then i stopped to go out for a few hours and then when i came back it wass broke. And i believe a broken 360 is still better then a PS3 anyway.

Am I the only person here to think that Microsoft should be getting ALOT more criticism over the reliability of the 360??

Wait for the PS3 ' s to start crashing then compare, but yes M$' s reliability is a big issue, mainly due to the die size and the heat that generates, maybe " Zephyr" will resolve that.

The man in the know would be Nitro.

Well there weren' t many problems with the PS3 launch units compared to the 360 launch units.

PS3 seems to have suffered a few minor isolated GPU overheating and disc drive problems but nothing on the same kind of scale as 360.

360 has been terrible up until recently. Every single unit from the first couple of batches was faulty and that resulted in VX' s, Eddies (or Mass' s), and my own machine dying withing a week of one another. 3 guys in 3 different countries on one of the quietest gaming forums all having machines die within such a small timeframe is too strange to mean nothing.

Their customer service leaves a lot to be desired too and if you send it in as opposed to taking it back to where you bought it then you' ll more than likely get a refurbished unit that will eventually die too.

Both of my replacement units arrived within a week of sending the broken machines off but i still bought a new console with an October manufacture date and that console hasn' t even frozen once yet.

I get my PS3 in 12 days time and i seriously hope it' s fine. If not i' ll start sending letter bombs to executives!

Microsoft is a trash company.

You don' t trust software companies with hardware anyway. They don' t know what the fuck theyre doing.

Yeah, and last gen what was the excuse for sony? How much of their ps2s were bought due to broken ps2s that were not under warranty? I dont recall many people i know that had troubles out of the original xbox

everyone does. Get with the program. They just dont bring it up unless someone mentions a broken 360

And? what does that have to do with quality?

EA was rich while Sega was going bankrupt. Are you suggesting EA produced more quality material?

Please. Stop talking. Assets have nothing to do with having what it takes to make quality products. Microsoft clearly demonstrates this - all the money in the world and cant even design a console with a lifespan of over 3 months, they are a TRASH company.

I choose the console that offers superior gaming experiences, not the one who' s parent company has a higher valued stock. If I was investing and had to choose between the two I' d go for microsoft, but I' m not investing - I' m playing fucking videogames, and microsoft cannot deliver quality games, period. I don' t give a fuck how much money they have, they have no games and their hardware is garbage.

Motorstorm!
And the 360 has been out for quite a while so it' s no surprise that it has more cool exlusives than the PS3.
But whatever, the 360 is noisy and I hate that! Once the new models with the better disc-drives and stuff arrives I' ll sell my old and buy the new one. I guess in the end that' ll make my 360 as expensive as the PS3 since I don' t expect to get much money for my old 360. All that just for getting a console that has acceptable running conditions. And I still don' t get any next-gen disc format, wi-fi, HDMI, 60gb HDD or grill design. But at least I get lots of cool games. The games are what saves the 360 from failure.

I never had the " unpleasant" experience of sending my 360 to the nice folks in India. My 360 was already warrantee free, so I checked out some backwater forums for some info. 1 heat gun & about an hour later I had a working 360. The majority of the problems were from MS' s switch to a more environmentally friendly solder, that had major issues when heated. So I reheated & am still good to go.

Do me a favor... stop talking.

I made ridiculous amounts of money repairing the same design flaw that Sony didn' t bother to rectify in multiple models of PS2s. Don' t give me this " dependable hardware" BS. They knew there was a problem & denied its existence. At least MS admitted there was a problem eventually.
