Uh, no. None of what they sold was illegal, and since they' ve been in buisness, Sony has never had a bone to pick with them. Not one.

Only when they realise they can make a pretty penny, and make it sound like they' re liberating the consumer do they take legal action. Freaking megacorp.

But it wasn' t just early console releases. It was the games you couldn' t get outside of asia. It was the repair parts and specialised tools. It was the neat accessories you could get for your game consoles and stuff. They were a great resource, and they' re closed because Sony thinks they need to shephard us like livestock.

Its the reason why Sony should close their doors, too bad people dont punish them for something like this!

This news dosent bother me as ive never really imported games or wanted games that were never released outside asia.

Stealing their thunder? Does that mean they have to shut down Lik-Sang? They could have had Lik-Sang remove the listings that " stole their thunder" and called it pax.

Sony lost no money in those sales. Lik-Sang payed the for those PSP' s the same as every other consumer, and sold them at a reasonable price to European consumers. However, what Sony is failing to take into account is the number of Ex Lik-Sang visitors who are now livid with Sony corp. Have you seen the comments under their official closing statement? There must be over 300 Sony hate posts, and that message hasn' t even been out for 24 hours. How many of those folks do you think are going to rush out and buy a PSP or PS3 now?

I don' t think this will affect sales at all. The casual gamer doesn' t care about importing niche Jap games, or getting the machine before the domestic launch, not at hefty import prices.

Sadly it' s not us, the real gamers who decide anymore. Sony need to be stopped, or they need to release the games we buy import consoles for. (SNK games, RPG' s like XenoSaga, the 1st never made it to the UK, Sega Ages aracde ports, and other stuff).

I disagree. When Lik-Sang takes pre-orders for a JP console, they' re always in very small quantities, as are most sites. So assume 100 PS3' s make it to The States or to Europe, or wherever for that matter. Sony is still turning profit from those PS3' s, they' re just not in Japan anymore. And in a half a year with their respective local releases, most purchases from import consoles have died down.
So in this way, Sony breaks even.

Suppose now the 300 people who posted angry things about Sony on the Lik-Sang comment board don' t buy a PS3, that' s anything from $150,000 to $180,000 that Sony never sees. And that' s only a modest estimate. Those figures are just accounting for the 300 customers sony lost in 24 hours.

I' m not trying to be argumentative, but Sony can' t afford to screw up, especially not right now.

Sony kills Lik-sang. Man that' s terrible news. So harsh, and just for money. Some of Sony' s most eager and devoted early adopters will probably turn against them after this.

Wow. I think I bought my Doctor V64 from Lik Sang, but I can' t quite remember. I think this is all Sony Europe' s doing, though. If consumers want to import something, let them. Sony just wants to assert its power, it seems. They are almost as bad as Nintendo used to be.

Yeah, don' t forget their fake " chip shortages" circa 1988. Nintendo' s dominance in the 8-bit era was built upon business practices that ranged from shady to downright illegal. They were popped with antitrust lawsuits from all 50 states in the U.S., and got quite a reality check in the 16-bit era when they could no longer rely on breaking the law to dominate the market.
