GTA:SA
-
Oct 26, 2004 21:30
Admittedly I didn' t like GTA3 or Vice City. However, being ever the hard-headed type I pre-ordered GTA:SA (paid in full too). But before I continued through with my purchase I decided to rent SA first to see if I warm up to SA' s gameplay. I' ll post some impressions when I get the chance.

I' m tempted to rent SA too after GTA 3 disappointed me and Vice City eventually bored me to tears meaning that 30-40 hours into the game I still hadn' t finished it and had no motivation to go further. But thinking about it again those 30-40 hours were fun and I can see myself liking an Andreas a lot more. Plus there' s the fact if I don' t snap up the game on release it' ll be a week before I see it on the shelves again.

Well I got my copy yesterday at 7 from EB. There was a line winding around the mall with people waiting to get their pre-ordered copy. Does it live up to its hype? I think it does, and surpasses expectations. I was personally thinking that the graphics were gonna be a smidge smoother, and the aiming system more loose, but even with those qualms this is better than anything I' ve played in so long. This game reminds me why I like playing video games. I don' t even think Halo 2 is going to impress me as much as this game has in only my first hours of playing.

I am loving San Andreas so far. But it' s so overwhelmingly massive. I won' t have time to play it all before Christmas 2005.

How massive is the story? It' s dragged me in and I' m having fun doing missions for the gangs in Los Santos. The other leading members of CJ' s gang are just great, Smoke being my favourite. Whilst looking forward to exploring more of the map I' m pretty content for the moment to just hang with CJ' s boys ^_^ vanswa garbutt, I’ve not gotten 2 player mode working yet but from what I’ve heard you need to be far enough into the game to have a girlfriend as that’s the character player two takes control of. Once you have one missions should start appearing round the maps, much like the kill frenzy missions in the other GTA games. I’ve not done this myself because I’m just not that far into the game but I hope it’s some help.

I bought the game the day it came out.And its awesome. This game is worth buying a ps2 for. The game is HUGE and i dont think ill get to the other cities before halo 2 comes out. As for 2 player mode,I found it by accident.I was driving around and went for a big jump and landed right on the 2 player icon.It said put 2nd controller in and press any button. The 2 player mode works like the hunter games u cant go far from each other since its not split screen.U also cant jack 2 cars at the same time,so when 1 player steals a car the second player sits next to him and shoots. When 2nd player joins he can pick any character he wants. And i found the 2 player mode without even starting the story.

I’ve found a 2 player icon. You need to get far enough in the game to do missions for the crooked police officers. I can’t remember the exact name of the mission but it’s something like ‘hot under the collar’. The mission involves picking up explosives then lobbing them at the 6 windows of a house. Something happens and you end up saving somebody and getting a girlfriend. Her house is then marked on your map as a love heart. Go there but instead of going into the red circle of light (which triggers a date with her) go to the door of her house and step into the red icon depicting two people. I’ve not done this yet as I’m lacking a second joypad! You' ll have to try and tell us the results. Haha, the gang wars have just started properly in my game. Taking over new territory is soooooo fun!
