I was fairly willing to part £399 for the ps3. £425 looks too steep though sony should cut it to £399 it just looks better. I don' t mind the price too much though but am going to wait a while for money and to see what happens.

yeah, i remember those threads. the speculation was all over the place. everything from 200 to 1000, i kinda liked it better when most of us said that 600 for a console was suicide, and that they' d never even think about it. life was happier then. (sigh) sony couldn' t have just settled with Immersion, been a gallant loser, and paid a little for the tech to be used in their future controllers. but no, they had to hold their head up high, and continue fighting. I know alot of people who couldn' t care less about the rumble features, but i' ll miss it in my games, especially if the controllers are ridiculously light. I' d rather keep a dualshock controller, than a rip-off pitch sensitive controller any day.

Another thing is immersion has offered them a lot of options which like majic said would mean they will have to withdraw the claim but so far their answer still remains no. But whilst it' s still in action they' re still allowed to produce rumble for their ps1 and 2s which is probably the only good thing about it. I remember the price discussions aswell and thought 299 and the 1000 (which I always thought was impossible) was never going to see the light of day but towards the end I thought they might actually surprise us this time and hit with a price close to ms. I' m also interested to see how the blu ray drives will get on soon after launch.
