Joe, so you can' t run a PAL-TV in 60hz? I never knew that...
I could change almost 99% of my old DC games to 60hz on a PAL-TV set.

I was reading this article yesterday, maybe it' s inaccurate... but it' s worth checking out.

Now on to more important things... how big is my HDTV Joe

Gossi, it supports progressive but at what res i dont know, however my older tv, it supported 480p/525p but pal and ntsc progressive signal through component, and i have the same effect on the old tv as i do with this one... Which leads me to believe it' s nothing to do with the tv.

I can' t find the information about the supported scan modes on my tv, annoying.

Phoenix, when you run in PAL 60, it' s basically the same thing as NTSC, lower resolution and all. You' re not getting 575 lines in PAL 60. Remember, the bandwidth for PAL and NTSC is exactly the same. Exactly.

Huh?

HDTV can run at 24, 30 and 60fps.

Holy bleep.

It just occurred to me.

While on my chips website forum (at ghost2.net) I remember reading that a guy who had the same problem as i am having never used to have the problem before he chipped his machine. He too was having the flicking issue caused by green fix.

So just now i turned my chip off and tried to turn progressive scan on whilst playing a dvd, and y' know.... the screen didn' t misalign, it was perfect progressive scan dvd at last. So there must be some setting on the Chip (hopefully one i can turn off) that causes my problem... I can feel it... the solution is very near....

Solution!!!

I had to disable Colour Correction - This puts the screen to the right position
However there is still some weird mark thing on the screen so I had to disable Macrovision Fix to get rid of the mark

In summary

Issue: Flickering screen through component cable.
Solution: Disable Green Fix

Issue: Progressive Scan outputs top-right portion of the image at the bottom-left of the screen.
Solution: Disable Colour Correction and Macrovision Fix
