Wasn' t Sonic X-Treme already slated and then canned for the Saturn? X-Treme Sonic games don' t work. The world will hate it like they hated Sonic Heros. Sonic Team will truly never learn. They haven' t made a good game since the original Sonic Adventure.

The general consensus might be to dislike Sonic Heroes now but there is no doubting the fact it actually sold really well. I' m hoping Sonic Next might be good as it' s been handled by a few different people after the shuffle at Sega recently. That and the tech demo at E3 filled me with some sort of hope as it looked awesome and there were no pits of doom to fall into, unlike every 3D Sonic game ever. Sonic Riders on the other hand, I did some searching and found this: http://img285.imageshack.us/my.php?image=sonicriders26ie.jpg Whaddaya think?

Sonic Riders looks quite fun, I love the almost F-Zero-like look of one of the tracks shown in the screen shots. As for Sonic X-treme getting canned, that game serves as one of Sega' s darkest hours. Instead of Sega of Japan and Sega of America coming together for the sake of the Saturn they chose to fight like cats and dogs against EACH OTHER while also trying to compete against Sony. So basically we can all thank good ol Yuji Naka for no Sonic X-treme during the Saturn era. My god Yuji, all you had to do is keep your mouth shut and let Sega of America continue to use the NiGHTS engine for the game and all would have been well for Sonic fans back then.

Looks pretty nice and I' m guessing it' s super fast too (after all it is a Sonic game) This Could be a lot of fun as long as it' s executed right. I' m looking forward to both this and Shadow. I just hope I' m not disappointed with them like I have been with some of the more recent efforts.

Wll according to Gamespot we' ve all been saved. Sega have announced Sonic The Hedgehog for 360 and PS3 for release ' sometime' in 2006... " We are proud to re-create our famous friend, Sonic, for a new generation of gamers on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360," said Naka. " With Sonic the Hedgehog, we have gone back to our starting point, more than 15-years ago, to reinvent the attitude and speed that made our hero a legend. The ' rebirth of Sonic' will offer an unparalleled sense of speed that is only possible using the processing power afforded by the new systems." http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/action/sonicthehedgehog/ Sonic Riders also has some decent screens too... they are the same as in the magazine but bigger and better quality. http://www.gamespot.com/xbox/driving/sonicriders/ Fingers crossed Kikizo will have more on this sometime today.
