You people who aren' t bothered with the noise from the 360 have one thing in common: You are deaf! There' s a lot of people who are annoyed by how noisy the 360 is. It' s a fact. Some of you have pretty bad hearing and that' s great for you. But for people like me who actually have decent hearing left the 360 IS noisy. Why the hell would I lie about it? And besides, even IF I wouldn' t hear the sound woth 5.1 surround it still sucks that you need that in order to block out the noise. A console shouldn' t be that noisy! Or maybe you guys don' t have any standards regarding you electronic products?

I never said that the 360 wasn' t noisy in the first place, I simply said that I think that it is pretty ridiculous if people try to say that they can hear the 360 over the surround sound. I mean come on, please don' t exaggerate too much now. Maybe I am deaf I don' t know. But maybe on the other hand you have been so bothered by the noise of the machine that you have come to a point where you are wanting to hear the noise, I don' t know. Again, I am NOT saying that they are not noisy.

The 3 consoles iv had have had different noise levels, i think Gin might have gotten a bad one. I dont really hear it when i play, but when im in a loading screen it gets a bit too much, and if im going to play a slow game with more ambience than gunfire or music, it might ruin the immersion (unless they place 10 humming birds fluttering around your head at all times)

You people who aren' t bothered with the noise from the 360 have one thing in common: You are deaf! Ahum NO! I have sound on my games, you know with music+ sound effects, cant hear the fan then. Ofc I like to have the volume high though for a more cinematic feeling.

When I am playing I usually don' t hear it, only when the game is like starting up. I am also pretty good at getting totally immersed in a game and therefore automatically ignore that fan sound.

Isnt it funny that when the wii is dominating both other systems the sony and MS fanboys label it as " not a real game machine" . so what is a " real" game machine? Is it one that uses a 6 gen control? or a machine that focusses itself completely on graphics but not gameplay? Unlike many of the " real" gamers, i really couldnt care less how many times i can shoot someone in the head in Halo, or how they may have the ability to click the left joy stick after killing another player to t-bag them? if I had to choose thw wii, the so-called " not a real game machine" . Or the machine that is a constant *** up that makes extremely good use of its warranty, then i choose the so called non-gamers machine. When a company like MS cant design a machine that doesnt overheat, scratch discs, lock-up, an atrocious console interface (the console menu, not the machine itself) and generally have a new problem every other day, its quite sad. They are experienced enough in software and hardware to have done it better. As always with microsoft though, it just concentrated on the quickest way to suck out some money, rather than focus on good quality, which nintendo has done and it speaks for itself.

You know you come here, and nearly start throwing the fanboy label around. Its not really a wise thing to do, since you barely know the people here (since your new). All of us enjoy every kind of game, the requirement is that they have to be fun ofcourse. And as soon as someone even dares to bad mouth the wii (for being less powerful, and having a very poor lineup of 3rd party games) the Fanboy sticker gets slapped on our backs. When it comes to it, only the die hard Wii defenders are the fanboys, because they cant see any of the faults of the wii.

I see the faults of the wii. It is lacking in the on-line area, it is graphically less powerful, and its processor is less powerful also. The one big difference i notice however when playing a wii and the other machines is this, it is far more fun and entertaining which should be the number one priority.

I dont think its fun shaking a controller through a thousand mini games inbetween the few great games released by nintendo, which then in terms of graphic leaves me [:' (] when i look at the beautiful games from other consoles, i can live through it, it doesnt change the fact that nintendo cheaped out, the console would have been much greater if it was as powerful as the other two!

yeah nintendo cheaped out. They, as usual, decided to be the company that would come up with a new idea rather than recycle the same thing. And its typical the a microsft fan would go on only about the visuals, as usual. Do you not know that gameplay makes a game aswell, not just how pretty it looks? Or do you ignore because microsoft doesnt implement it enough? Ever notice how crappy it is using the sprint in gears of war? Perhaps how inefficient it is playing advanced warfighter 2? A good example for the wii is playing resident evil 4 on the wii and another machine. The difference is huge. The controls arent gimmicky or tacked on, its just something new and innovative, which is more than a can say for MS or sony.

Do you not know that gameplay makes a game aswell, not just how pretty it looks? Controls doesnt equal gameplay, id love to see you play Ninja Gaiden with the Wiimote. The controller isnt bad, but its not perfect either, it would have suited me more if it was a periphial to Gamecube or to a console equal to Ps3 or Xbox. Or do you ignore because microsoft doesnt implement it enough? Ever notice how crappy it is using the sprint in gears of war? pleaase tell me how the wii would make this better? thrusting the wiimote and the nunchuk up and down as is done it all the mini games released? Sprinting in Gears of War works fine to me, as you cant change direction on a coin. Perhaps how inefficient it is playing advanced warfighter 2? I have a few gripes with GRAW2, but controls is not one of them A good example for the wii is playing resident evil 4 on the wii and another machine. The difference is huge. The controls arent gimmicky or tacked on, its just something new and innovative, which is more than a can say for MS or sony. Really iv read and heard accounts telling that the controls for Resident Evil 4 isnt at all any better. I havent tried myself, because i dont feel like paying for a port of a game i already own, but thats the whole idea of the Wii, buy Gamecube and PS2 games again, play with new fun controller

DS and the Wii are the only innovative Nintendo has succeeded at, for many years they tried playing it safe, but everyone did it better than them How about the nintendo 64? The thumbstick, is the 360 now not using the same thing? Controls doesnt equal gameplay, id love to see you play Ninja Gaiden with the Wiimote. The controller isnt bad, but its not perfect either, it would have suited me more if it was a periphial to Gamecube or to a console equal to Ps3 or Xbox. Heres a better one. I' d love to see someone play ninja gaiden and not be bored to tears in the first 5 minutes. I honestly dont get the fuss of that game. I played it thinking it would be awesome, and with absolutely no exxageration. I dont see the big deal, no matter what control you used on that game it would still be crap. The camera work was poorly done, visuals were bland, gameplay was boring. That goes on my list of most overrated games ever. Really iv read and heard accounts telling that the controls for Resident Evil 4 isnt at all any better. I havent tried myself, because i dont feel like paying for a port of a game i already own, but thats the whole idea of the Wii, buy Gamecube and PS2 games again, play with new fun controller Time to find your info from a better source then. It is well known that the controls are 10x better on the wii. The game itself is updated. So by you saying that I guess you havnt ever played halo 1 or 2 on the 360 because that would be playing outdated games which is some unwritten law right? Or are you just a hypocrit?

Also i know NG can be hard on for some people you might not have liked the game, but take another game in the same genre, God of War or Devil May Cry, play them with the wii mote?

As for the thumbstick thing - why are we attributing that to Nintendo? This thing has been long known in Arcades and iirc Sega and Nintendo released almost simultaneously a controller with an analog stick.

All the so-called innovation counts for nothing if there arent decent games that put that innovation to good use ... I mean i can play Wii sports for only so long .. Wii is a good console no doubt about it but until some good games are released for it , it would continue to be a casual gamers choice ...

am I the only one with a quiet 360, my friend lester has a quiet one also. I mean I hear my fan sometimes, not loud though, just what I expected a fan to sound like. My computer is louder than my xbox, and it' s a G5. Maybe I' m just lucky, but I" m no fanboy, but honestly my system is pretty quiet. Actually, I think the 360 is an ok system, I like how it looks, I love the interface. I love a lot of the games, and it' s defintely built better than the Dreamcast(went through 3 of those, all broke on shenmue 2, but this the greatest system of all time in my heart). I guess that will all change when I get the red rings of death though, probably get a loud system also, LOL. I got over a year & a half out of it already though, which is pretty cool.
