Premium does it constantly.
They need to stop ship core to europe.

Well i now don' t have to worrk about spending £425+ on the damn thing this November meaning i can focus more on Wii and 360.

360 demo pods running Gears of War are going to be responsible for an awful lot of sales this christmas, especially with there not being any PS3 pods for people to look at.

Microsoft have the US market cornered amd will come out of Q4 really strong in Europe. Sony are going to be fighting an uphill battle from here on out.

Well for me all microsoft has to do is change the colour for this christmas. Then by march price drop. Nintendo should launch during november now because they won' t come up against much resistence in europe cos you might see a lot of wii60 combos and in japan well who knows. I' m hoping sega changes their mind now about the vf5 exclusive (unless they were payed to).

If ps3 doesnt get a lower price-tag thanks to the delay sony can fuck themself forever.

This news is hardly a surprise, still a bit disappointing though. Still it does give me more time to save up and the launch line-up will probably be far better than it would have been if it had of been released in November, which is a good thing!

I wonder now if they will have titles like heavenly sword at launch? in theory there could be in excess of 20 titles at launch, but would all the titles get the attention the publishers want from them?

I just think it seems like an odd move why dedicate you time and efforts to the markets your opponents are dominating most interest america loves the 360 it' s where most of the sales come from the wii is being awaited by a lot of japanese. Whereas europe didn' t really look that amazed by the wii neither does it sell as much 360' s as it should be doing which is partly down to people waiting and testing the water why not let europe be the main priority?.

Xbox sold 5.5 million copies in europe.
And ps2 around 28 millions.
GC around 4.5 millions

There is a lot of gamers out there in EU that might go either way.

That is my point though quez europe loves the playstation brand at least here in the uk and where I used to live. Where I was I would walk into game station and it would be playstation central playstation stuff in the front gamecube stuff in the back on one side near the counter and same with xbox. They are impartial in there though but you can tell they heart their playstation. Anyway from a territory stand point europe definately should have been first I would have thought.

All europeans basically left Nintendo and Sega and went to PS1 because they found it cheaper and had more and better games.

Also from the geeky gamers point of view is it really worth it waiting util march 2007 for a console to launch that should have been on the market a long time ago with a 2005 rsx chip?.

Associated Press' interview Ken Kutaragi said that there will be 500,000 consoles in launch in Japan and USA. In USA, PS3 will be released in november 17th and it will have 400,000 consoles and in Japan, november 11st and it will have 100,00 consoles! This is because of the Blu-Ray. Production will be started in this months end. Kutaragi said that there will be 6 million consoles in the end of march 2007.

in 2007 they will produce CPU' s in a new improved form and these will emit less heat.That could make 360 a bit more quiet.

HD battle is moslty in the US here HD TVs penetration is high.360 have been ruling US for too long - they need to fight it there.It' s the only region where 360 can be called succesful.

Europe can wait for HD.

Wii however could take over japan easily now.
Wii60 could be the most popular console for European gamers.

I wasnt going to get a ps3 at launch. I was going to wait untill march 2007 anyway.

This way, We wont get the early buggy units, we will have some great games to pick from. And we wont have to complain about only getting 10 units for the entire euro countrys.

And we will probley get a diffferent colour just like what Nintendo does to make it ' all better'

Anyway that aside on the hd matter I think you' re a bit mistaken there europe is by no means less important when it comes to the hd-era there are loads of movie buffs here that are waiting for toshiba to make a cheaper model or reduce the price for their hd-dvd player and with an add-on coming this ' ' fall' ' I think that could help. No , but 360 didn' t have that much more on it' s launch in the US , and 400k is a start - and they know they need to start fighting for consumers especially there.

I' d buy 360Lite with pleasure (if it would improve the experience as much as DS Lite did) :)

Definitely not.

The reason is that 360 haven' t sold that well in EU and isn' t that much of a threat.
I know they should be launching here too , but if they only have 500k , then Europe is the only place they can afford to neglect for now.

360 doesn' t exist in Japan and it is a small competition in Europe (they will outdo it' s userbase very fast - it' s about 2mln units in EU if I remember correctly).Like you said EU is still heavily PS brand dependent.

Sony will sell very well in the US , but they need to start doing that ASAP , cause the gap between them and 360 is getting bigger every day.

To be honest 100k for Japan is just a gesture - to show that they care.
