Nice - I wonder what that game would be... FF3 sold 500 000 copies (exceeding expectation for 350 000) in a week.

I hope they won' t make no heavily japanese oriented title.Maybe another Tactics game? :)

I hope it' s not heavily japanese orientated too. But I think sakaguchi knows which direction he wants for it so i' m confident that it will be one to look for.

I watched the interview that Kikizo had with Sakaguchi again.

I really am looking forward to this game. It will sell out in America and
Europe, Japan is still an isolated case when they are fussing over Wii and PS3,
will LO get the recognition it deserves?

Dasher, why do both your main names have numbers at the end of them?

Nolan242?

Dasher232?

I only noticed yesterday..

The 242nd Nolan?

or

Dasher the 232nd?

Either way, why are there 10 places between them both?
...

Suppose I' ll just wait until launch for the answer..

Apparently

Famitsu also had an interview with Sakaguchi, some highlights (stolen from Gaf):

- In the opening movie for Lost Odyssey you can seamlessly input commands for the battle scene.
- Combat is not action driven but command menu driven.
- The playable demo lasts for 40-60 minutes.
- The final game will have even higher quality than the demo.
- The modeling for the movies are almost identical to the realtime models.
- Inoue (the character designer) is personally checking all the models.
- The demo' s battles will just the most basic part of the system. The more indepth systems will be excluded.
- The character growth systems and so on will be in the final game only.
- Surviving enemies inherit the powers of those who are killed.
- Since the main character cannot die either there will not be a possibility of game over.
- The final game will use a physics engine.
- The final text message on the playable demo was written by Shigematsu (scenario writer for the various short stories that make up the game).
- Lost Odyssey will be playable at TGS, with the demo disc being released with Famitsu in early November.
- Lost Odyssey will be out in 2007.
- Blue Dragon will DEFINITELY be released within 2006.
- ASH is being targeted for the first half of 2007.
- There will be more titles being announced from Mistwalker.

and i' m not sure if it' s rumour or not but apparently there' s another rpg for the 360 to be announced at tgs called ' ' infinate discovery' ' by tri-ace.

Great, it' s a flashy way of saying turn-based..

Great find Dash, I want to see how this battle system turns out..
Wow there' s more RPG titles headed for the 360.. Splendid, if most of them aren' t
heavily turn-based.

Looking frward to those CG models being almost identical to the in-game models
or vice-versa...

I hope it' s not en arm type turn base if it is cos that would suck. However I think he was saying just for the demo you might be doing that for and the real game you have more control (maybe). Anyway if its true about more mistwalker titles i' m gonna explode come tgs especially if there are more rpg goodness.

I also like the idea of it not saying ' ' game over' ' or ' ' you' re dead' ' wonder what it will say ?... ' ' you get to suffer another 1000 years' '

If it' sanything like En Arm, I' ll kill everyone in Mistwalker myself, posing as a
complimentary dress up Zack from DOA4.

Instead of saying game over, he' ll probably remember the deaths of those around
him and it becomes part of the story, maybe certain aspects of the gameplay
take a different turn, and depending on the situation he either gets weaker or
stronger.

That, or he lets out an unending " No" or " Ksor" , and disappears in the dust.

But TGS cannot come any sooner, I believe we are in for a nice RPG surprise
TBH..

Yeah I like that idea when you fail something should come up like ' ' It' s all you' re fault' ' . The best continue screen iv' e seen so far is ninja gaiden when they ask if you wanna quit and you say yes then they say are you sure, really sure,...really?...ok then (or something like it).

by the way it' s blurry but still make me wanna know more...

That screenshot looks interesting, but also suggest that this game is very turn
based influenced. If it' s real, the graphics are shaping up quite astoundingly.

Although, the idea of those being in-game really makes me salivate () just
a few more lighting effects here and there and it could very well look like one
of the earlier screensots from the CG movie, it looks a whole lot more gritty
than all the Final Fantasies..

Haha, that Continue Screen is supposed to make the player feel like an utter turd.

Abandon the Ninja way? Not on your nelly...

Personally, I have not ever got that screen..

I' m not sure if this is right but in the ign article about famitsu' s interview with sakaguchi it seems like the battle system might actually have other options (I might be wrong) I think I saw another screen where it looked free flowing there wasn' t any options on screen. Also it' s gonna be running on 30fps but i' m still tuned in.

There' s nothing wrong with 30fps

It allows for more detail, and for the extra 30 frames you sacrifice so much detail
you might as well stay at 30..

Of course games like Ninja Gaiden are a standard 60fps, but they do nice little
tricks to throw you off the fact that their backgrounds are limited, not a lot of
developers can do that without some ponce saying:

" Hey YOU wait.... I just want to thank you for organising this kick-ass event.."

If there is free-flowing battles/movements, God Bless Sakaguchi!

I would love it if they gave you a battle option turn base or go all out, would be fun to see how the battles vary. Come on tgs only 9 days

Why did you have to remind me it is 9 days away?!

Ah well, there are enough events in-between to keep my mind occupied.

*cough*birthday*cough*

A nice present from MS would be to show me ALLLL the goodies I can officially
pump my 360 with...

So come on MS, deliver at TGS! You too Sony, I am buying your console as well..

And Ninty, well, you guys continue sniffing what ever you' re sniffing, it seems to
work.... Even if it is multi-coloured " happy" powder..

MS are also going to be " Bringing TGS home" so if you guys need to empty some
space on your Hard drives, I suggest doing so if you ar like some of us with only
4GB of memory left...
