I honestly can' t see this being true, then again Sony' s recent actions have been questionble to say the very least. I still don' t believe they would be that stupid though.

Bear in mind that in the US they make a $300+ loss on every unit sold, and in Japan the figure is higher because they cut the price before launch.

Just read over at gamereactor ps3 will cost around 850-900 USD in Sweden.

Not forgetting that this is a bundle price not a standalone, take a look at Play.com and you' ll find that they are offering the PS3 with 3 games for the same price, you can' t reserve one but you can see what you could be getting. Consumers are going to have to play the comparison game before buying which will mean that a lot of people will miss out on the very small allocation that will be available at European launch, Sony once again another nail in the coffin.

I may be getting a bit mixed up here, but isn' t littlewoods a catalogue? if so it is understandable as they always rip people off.

If it did retail for more than 425, it' s not going to be added to my collection anytime soon

The Australian price for ps3 is $1000, which is US$750-800

The 360 costs $650 or about US$450-500

The Wii costs $400 or about US$250-300

Apparently games for ps3 in Australia start at $120 (US$90-100) Online
Games for Wii start at $86 (US$60-70)

In Australia, $1000 is PC territory so coupled with the delay you can see why i' m not so optimistic about ps3s chances in Australia. $99 is the sweet spot for games. ps3 games are already well above that.

I can see what I could have been getting from the PS3 for over a year now. Still, you have to admit that that' s ridiculous.

Well, at least the PS3 games will feel more " special" than 360 games at that
hefty £55 price tag, 360 titles are now £40 here in the UK and they don' t really
feel special anymore unless they are LTD edition..

None of this has actually been confirmed though, and most retailers make up their own prices months before a console launch. Sometimes they' re close but so far they haven' t been 100% correct.

I expect games to retail at no more than £50, and £429.99 for the 60GB console. Seeing as the console costs roughly around the £450 mark to make this should go a small way of making up the hit taken by selling at a huge loss to other regions.

I can see what I could have been getting from the PS3 for over a year now. Still, you have to admit that that' s ridiculous.
