Hi, does anyone know which game has sold the most copies in the world?

I know it has to be Halo 2 or GTA: San Andreas but which one.

Hmmm don' t know maybe Super Mario bros. 1 or 3? Or even Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time?

You know what...its damn near impossible to find that answer, Ive looked almost everywhere. I' ll come back here whenever find some real statistical info and not just personal thoughts.


After a bit more looking I only found a slightly outdated list for top sellers of all-time

in my book the most best selling game ever would be Halo 2. od doa ultimate

I think it' s Super Mario(Nes) and the GameBoy being the biggest selling console.

What has sold more copies Halo 2 or GTA:SanAndreas?

I was looking for the answer between halo2 and GTASA. When I search up halo I get a monetary value, when I look up GTASA I get units sold. I guess I could do the math and figure it out.

But also you gotta factor in the consoles themselves. Like what percentage of the console owners have the game

example:
Say halo 2 has 100 units sold but there are 200 xboxes out there making it 50%.
Say then GTASA has 400 units sold but there are 800 ps2s itll still be 50%.

Basically since more PS2 have been sold it makes it easier for there to be more GTASA out there, so chances are I think GTA:SA has sold more.

In terms of worldwide sales SOO many other games have far surpassed the sales of Halo 2 and GTA: San Andreas.

For the week of 11/8 - 11/14, Master Chief worked his way into 37,507 Japanese homes, placing Halo 2 in 3rd place on the all console charts.

is there some kind of thign at the end of the year released with game sales? That would help. It' ll be interesting to see a top selers list of all time dated for January 2005, just to see where Halo 2 and GTA: San Andreas end up in it all.

*sigh* I remember once upon a time when Sonic 2 was the fastest selling game ever.
