Old Cartoons That Plague My Mind - Aug 24, 2004 00:50
I have been trying to find the name of a couple of shows I used to watch when I was a kid. As far as I know they are from the 80s.

Here is a description (or what I can remember) and lets see if anyone can help

1. I think was anime and was somewhat gundamwing-esqe but not. All I can remember was that the guy who had to pilot the big robot had to train and in training had to jump from the top of the robot and like dive into a rock and blow it up from the inside (his teacher was a wizard-like character). (Might have been a movie instead of a TV show)

2. Another anime. The cast of this one was almost entirely robots but was more of a pokemon type show.

I' ve been trying to remember forever but never have come across any leads to the name of these shows.

Now that' s solved, cartoons that plague my mind are Heckle and Jeckyl, George of the Jungle, Droopy, Sylvester and Tweety, Ricochet Rabbitt, Tom and Jerry, Popeye, and those bi-centennial shorts that ran in 1976... what was their name?

Also those School House Rocks cartoons!

There are so many older cartoons that were (and are) awesome!!!

Dangermouse. Oh yes, Dangermouse rocked. A secret service mouse with a hamster thing called Penfold as a sidekick. Together they lived in a post-box in London and flew to places in a yellow car with wings. Are you with me? The baddy was a Frog with a very husky voice and a strange fluffy centipede thing as a pet. Despite how odd it all sounds it was the best cartoon ever.

Count Duckula was brilliant too, a vampire duck. The last truly great cartoon I remember is Inspector Gadget. I was a huge fan of the series and am still wondering to this day what the hell ‘Claw’ looks like!

Oh, anybody remember Re-Boot?

Not in the UK. It was on a kids TV slot and never repeated. I don' t suppose anyone knows what the last series was? The last I saw was that kid and his girlfriend on the pirate ship thing trying to get home.

the REAL Ghostbusters and Spacecats.
oh and Dog City, remember that one? that was on with Sam and Max. that was a go one too. Captain Buckey O' hare. that was good but why was he Green? Captain Simeain and the Space monkies. I think that was one of the better bad guys in a saturday cartoon. King Artur and the knights of the round was really good and that Rock intro was (and probely is) the best intro to a cartoon. does anybody remember a cartoon that had Warriors with animals in there chest and they would jump out to help them? if someone knows this i would be greatful.
