cod4.. which version? - Oct 23, 2007 02:00
so yeah, cod4 day one, but after playing the pc demo, at medium settings the game runs like 30fps, not great but enough for me, now I know this is meant to be 60, so thats why I want to get the ps3 version [unless I am wrong] I am sure it looks better too, but the mouse and keyboard of the pc will always beat a pad in fps, I am sure I will play it online more on ps3 though...

so which should I get? and which are you getting?

Online is where you' ll get the most replay value. If you think that' s gonna be on the PS3, I' d go with that one.

Aww, that would be hard, PAd at 60fps or M&K at 30fps. Hopefully the PS3 version will support M&K.

If it does not it All depends on what you want out of it and how good you are at each control.

You want if mainly for the single player game go for PS3 at high detail and 60fps to give you that Epic feel.

If you want if for hardcore Online Vs get the PC version. M&K will open up the potential gameplay to a much deeper level than the console/pad versions could offer.

PC is the easy decision for me. But if I were you Id go for the console version on balance. You never know how the frame rate will hold up at other points in the game on the PC, and you' d be disappointed if you had to drop the detail further.

That would compromise both SP and MP, and controls would be the least of your worries.

I' ll be getting all three i expect. I ahve friends who only own a PS3 and friends who only own a 360 and friends who wouldn' t ever dream of playing such a game on a console.

Out of the two console versions the PS3 game is better looking - as will be shown in the next couple of weeks and as i' ve been saying for a couple of months. But is doesn' t support mouse & keyboard and SixAxis doesn' t have rumble - nor does PS3 use TruSkill whereas 360 does.

Thate reminds me: VX, could you work your IGN Insider magic and get me these three videos of the PS3 version for me? Please?

If you have a 360 I would go with that considering there will be a lot more people playing it online than there will on PS3.

PC and 360 versionfor me, although these next 6 weeks are going to be murder on my wallet. I have worked out that I will be spending somewhere in the region of £250 to £300 on games. Taking into consideration I have just paid for a £7k bathroom refit, this is going to be a tight 6 weeks.

Thanks for the link Nitro, but when I click on it, it only gives me a full screen view of the title screen. Am I doing something wrong?
