360 Racing Wheels
-
Jan 07, 2007 09:15
I' m thinking of getting a racing game for the 360, like PGR3 or TDU, and I think getting one of those racing wheels will make the game much more fun. But I don' t know which are good so I guessed that maybe one of you guys know which to get. I don' t want anything too expensive since I' m not a racing game enthusiast. I don' t have many to chose from in my favourite store. Only the: Microsoft official Wireless Racing Wheel LINK Mad Catz MC2 racing Wheel LINK Joytech Nitro Racing Wheel LINK I f***ing hate Joytech so I' m not getting that one unless one of you guys really recommend it. The Microsoft wheel looks good but it cost a lot so I' d rather get something cheaper if possible. The Mad Catz one look nice but I' ve heard it' s hard to become used to it. Any suggestions?

I' m not a racing game enthusiast. Skip a racing wheel then ^^ Anyway, why not wait for Forza 2 coming soon or Pgr4? With that said,TDU was a great game, awesome in HD and fun as hell to play if u have online friends.

Skip a racing wheel then ^^ With a racing wheel I might become a racing game enthusiast The Microsoft one seems to have real force feedback unlike the other ones. Is that something you need in order to have fun with a racing wheel? With that said,TDU was a great game, awesome in HD and fun as hell to play if u have online friends. I played the demo and it seems like a really fun game.

It' s a shame none of the Logitech ones work with 360 as they do with PS3. But neither joytech nor madcatz really have great reputations, so I' d go for the MS one myself. PGR and TDU arent really worth an expensive wheel, but forza could definitely be fun!

I won' t buy one for precision, I' ll buy it for the fun of it. It has to be more fun spinning a wheel than pushing an analog stick. I mean, that' s one of the reasons racing games on the arcade are so fun. I think I' ll get Microsofts.

Microsoft' s has force-feedback rather than rumble. Microsoft' s is the best available for 360 right now. It comes with a special copy of PGR3 which is only special because it has the drivers for the wheel on the disc, ...after you run it once you can use your old copy of PGR3 if you want.

There is a Logitech wheel for the 360. I must have missed it: Logitech DriveFX Racing Wheel for 360 Should I get Microsoft' s or Logitech' s? If Microsoft' s really includes a copy of PGR3 then I' ll take it. If it doesn' t have a copy of PGR3... I' ll kill Majik....

I thought that would be easier, like via Live or something, but if the drives are on the special PGR3 then they' re on the special PGR3.... right Majik?

Oh yea I forgot about the drive fx. Not sure how good it is though, haven' t heard many reviews. Proabably better than the Madcatz and Joytech efforts, but I dunno whether it' ll beat the MS one for comfort and coolness (read: wirelessness!). It definitely wont be as good as the DFP though. And the G25, well...

Should I get Microsoft' s or Logitech' s? Never buy from logitech. They always find a way to screw you over. I bought a subwoofer for my room and it only came with one speaker and it was advertised as having all of them, but the rest you had to buy separate. I dont know how many times iv got ripped of by logitech

I disagree, mastachefbkw. I have found that Logitech makes EXCELLENT products. I' ve been using the same logitech mouse for about 6 years, and it' s only now starting to give me problems. I also own Logitech 5.1 speakers for my pc, and a Logitech universal remote for my home theater (the Xbox 360 version, of course!) Never had ANY problems, and they over-deliver as far as performance goes. That being said, the Logitech wheel costs about $135 US whereas the Microsoft wheel costs $150, so I' d go with the Microsoft offering, considering it looks cooler, it' s wireless, and it comes with PGR3. Whichever you get, give us a review.

Whichever you get, give us a review. Ok, but I' ve never owned a racing wheel myself before so I can' t really say how it will be compared to other racing wheels. I' ll hopefully buy it this week.

Can you use the steering weel for the warthog in Halo 2? I n fact, can any generic control based game use a steering wheel when it comes to vehicle heavy bits??? A bit like having controller in port 1 and steering wheel in port 2... No? Seems like a " good" idea, and it' d make more use for a steering wheel than the trickle of racing games we get, it' d make the steering wheel feel more valued.

It would be cool if you could combine Wii.mote and steering wheel in GTA: Punch them, stab the and shot them with the wii-mote, use the wii-mote to break into a car and then steer with the wheel. I know the Wii-mote can be used as a steering wheel too but it' s more fun with a wheel
