I' ve been reading about DS lite for ages, but today I' ve encountered a large thread on Lik-Sang forum dedicated to D-Pad problems.

It seems that a lot of people have trouble with it being totally unresponsive in diagonal directions.

I got my black DS Lite on Friday. In the first few hours I noticed the problem. I took it back and got another one. This also had the same problem. By the time I took that one back the clerk started giving me dodgy looks. In the end I settled for the 3rd one which also has the problem. I' ve tried to ignore it but after a week my thumb is really sore and i' m starting to admit that it really does bother me. How do we go about complaining to Nintendo?

The thing is that most people say they have this problem on both white and black DS lite systems.It' s hard to say what explanation is good, but it really is confusing a bit.

Mine is fine. It' s black and has ZERO problems -- the d-pad is perfect (just like the GB Micro' s)

No Nintendo representative would say anything like that. For all they know it' s the press calling them.

The thing is it won' t be that abvious until you play games like metroid and other that make u use diagonal directions.

No not myself - I' ve just orderd Enamel Navy from Lik sang (yeah!!) - it seems that this problem is mostly european - guys at IGN reviewing black DS lite (at the end of this review) say that it' s got fucked up D-pad.

I was very worried when I heard this just before I was supposed to get DS LITE, but I guess I' ll get it anyway and maybe mine will be fine since it' s japanese.

one thing is for sure - not all of them are bad, this issue appeared among european DS Lite mostly but even euromodels can be good or bad.

You don' t need to worry majik since you got yours at retail and can replace it if something is wrong.

I hope my enamel won' t have bad pixels (my fisrt pure white DS from japan had 3,I exchanged it for another one and it had 1 but it was located in a corner so I could live with that)
