Ryu would win because he' s not a digitized piece of asstastic graphics.

To be fair to Ryu he' d be one hell of a dude to fight, I wouldn' t want to be in Scorpion' s shoes. In fact unless Scorpion could use his sword he wouldn' t stand much of a chance.

Scorpion actually makes his opponents bleed, so he has to be the hardest of the two.

It' s Anime style and skill vs Western brute force and violence. I think Ryu would win, coming back from the brink of death.

Don' t put it that way! Anime kind of makes me nauseous, especialy lately. There' s sooo much... it' s almost all the same... dying... help..

Here' s the fight.. Scorpion would shoot out his little " Get Over here!" hook to try and snag Ryu, Ryu would instead grab it and pull Scorpion into a dragon punch.. Fight Over

Scorpion uses three different fighting styles, a weapon, and can teleport! Ryu uses some generic form of Karate, can twirl through the air like a ballerina, and uses a " super uppercut" (woohoo)! If that' s not enough, Scorpion can now attack in three dimensions, so that makes him the victor by default!

Oh snap. Chee saw made a point with the 3d thing!

Ryu can do a HADOU-KEN!!!
That' s like, the ultimate attack! And I bet he can do it dragon ball style: if he charges up a little more, he can blow away an entire planet!
Bison could teleport, that didn' t stop Ryu from defeating him. Dhalsim can stretch just like Scorpions..um... snake-like weapon, but that didn' t stop Ryu from defeating him!
And Ryu has a strange world of his own just like Scorpion, that' s right: Japan!
But of all the MK characters Scorpion is without a doubt the coolest!

Let' s not forget Scorpiom is already dead. I doesn' t feel pain and such. Plus he shoots fireballs, can spew fire from his mouth, transport the fight to hell (Ultimate MK3 style), and do the sword, teleport, spear stuff. I' m not garenteeing Scorpion would win but youguys aren' t even giving him a chance. You defintely blowing Ryu out of proportions.

This is about two game characters that were really strange from the beginning and you' re talking about blowing things out of proportion... :P
I' d like to start a scientific research about this. Then we should be able to calculate the outcome :P
But still, the Hadou-ken beats all of Scorpions special attacks. It has been scientificly proved by several research institutes regarding this matter. I just happened to forgot the names of them...
Anyway the street fighter games are much better than the Mortal Kombat games! I don' t find anything fun at all in the MK games. Used to like the blood when I was a kid but I guess I grew up.
