It looks great. Still a little sparse, but it looks great and seems to work well.

Haha. that was a funny video. Right off the bat I' d like to say it looks really cool. The design of it is pretty simple and straight forward not to mention it looks very nice. The funny part about it was how the guy was describing it. The firt point wehre I gave a chuckle was when he showed the falling 3d photos feature. He said " This is a very useful function" or something along those lines and I couldn' t help but laugh. How is that useful? It' s a gimmick.

The other stuff that had me laughing was the web browser. Right from the get go he said " you' ve all seen a web browser before" but then goes on to talk about how the PS3 improves it by allowing you to manage multiple windows at once... umm... I' m doing that right now on my PC, infact I' ve got 3 windows open, a couple with tabs. Man, the PS3 is really revolutionary since I can manage multiple internet windows...

Finally, showing NBA Live 07 to show off 60fps and 1080p... I' m unimpressed. It' s a sports game, and NBA Live no less... haha.

Anyway, aside from the dumb presentation that boring ass speaker gave I like the PS3 interface. I' m kinda wonder where the Linux feature is but that' s pretty much the only thing that was left out. Since I brought up Linux, I' d like to bring up my concern about spreading viruses and hacking PS3s online. Epic has already said people will be free to design and distribute their own levels for UT2007 so I really question what the extent of file transfers will be. I have a feeling someone is going to spread a virus that can easily corrupt the PS3s open source OS. Imo, open source operating systems and gaming consoles just don' t go together.

...yeah typical marketing crap... ...like anyone on the whole internet right now hasn' t got multiple web windows open....

....i am beginning to get this thing they were talking about PS3 being a computer rather than a console now though... ....it' s actually does all the things that most people would do with a home computer...

...web, chat, porn.... and gaming ofc....

.....could the days of the leisure PC be numbered?....

...anyway...

....of course the interface looks great.... .....i, along with 99% of consumers, would expect ANY $500 - $600 product to look and function superbly... ...

...YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR......

Notice: Phil said that this interface isnt final yet.

I like the first picture slide show its a brilliant idea.

Does the 360 have the " multiple windows" thingy?

Obviously.

Cool idea. Completely useless.

360 doesn' t have internet browsing because it' s a gaming console. If you think having multiple windows open for internet browsing on a game console is spiffy, there is something wrong with you.

Like i told you waaaaaaaay back when it was first announced, they' re not using Lunix as a fully fledged operating system, it' s simply powered by Linux. It won' t look like Linux and it won' t work the way Linux works, it' ll just be there in the background behind Sony' s sleek front end doing it' s job of handling the features and applications.

So with that, what changes do you expect to see in the final version?

Useless but still cool.

Lol i was just asking ofcourse PC = No.1 in browsing (Firefox FTW) but it wouldnt hurt if your console could do that too espicieally if it could do teh impossible multiple windows at once thingy!
DAMN Cell is really powerfull.

Seriously,do anyone here see the wii/ps3 IE browse thing as some advantage?

I fear that could lead to some hacking instead.

First they wont use IE because its a M$ product.Wii will use Opera browser and for PS3 i dont remember maybe Firefox Linux version?

Second it can be used to do some great things like upload your pics directly from your console to the net (look at the PGR3 photos thread).Im not a big fan of the idea but i think that some people will do some nice things with it.

Well there you have it.

You want it apparently, then its not a bad thing.

I would never surf the web on my phone/game console though.

I surf the web on my phone all the time
Especially wap-sites.
wap.sl.se - let' s you plan your Stockholm trips if you don' t know much about the buslines/subway lines where you' re going.
wap.dn.se - News, great if you' re bored on the train/bus.
wap.eniro.se - Maps, phone numbers etc.
But if you want to take a big PC or laptop with you when you go out on town then fine.

We only have one big left-winged news paper and that' s Aftonbladet.
DN, Expressen and Stockholm City are all owned by Bonners and are all liberal. Folkpartiet likes them.
Svenska Dagbladet is more right-winged than them and is usually liked by Moderater. Svenskan is an independent liberal.
Metro is supposed to be neutral but since it' s owned by MTG (Stenbeck) I suspect it is slightly right-winged.
