That would be a VERY AGGRESSIVE move by sony.

or desperate. This xmas is big for the PS3 on two fronts. If it loses out in numbers in a big way to the 360 then will developers keep supporting it either exclusively or even as multi-platform. Also they need to get Blu-ray players in peoples' houses. They have a lot of money invested in the PS3 they can' t afford it to fail to catch on in a big way, and we need the three big players to all keep going strong it keeps them all on their toes.

This would force MS to lower the price by alot more.

But wouldnt this make sony bleed out? how much are they still loosing!

I' ll finish off this year with the 360 and its abindance of games, but come early 2008 if this is all true and dandy then I will certainly get a PS3.

This maybe one of the bigest moves sony has ever made. I wonder what type of price drop ms is gonna make.

No matter how much ms drops the price I will not buy one until they improve on there design. Meaning no more red lights. I just cannot see my self spending 300 bucks for something that will break on me in 4 months.

This fall with the 65nm ones I think. I dont see why not get one if a price drop happens. I mean if you have a PS3 already then whats the problem? Your 360 dies then you have more time for PS3 while the 360 is away.

Thats not very optimistic. Im willing to pay $400 for a movie player I' ll rarely use, but would look really nice next to my tv

400$ is an excellent price for a PS3, i might get it. that' s the only console left in my arsenal.

A price war between PS3 and 360 is exactly what the industry needs. It' s only going to do good for both platforms. So far they' ve barely scratched the surface of the potential marketshare, it' s actually retarded that they haven' t made this move sooner.

Pretty soon we' ll start to see PS3 surpass Wii in Japan, and gain more ground in the other regions.

As for 360 with a price drop (and 65nm) also inevitable along with Halo 3 among many other games, 360 is in the best position in the next few months at least.

Nintenedo is still in a good position but they haven' t improved when the other two are going to be in much better shape after this. Especially considering Wii' s shortage.
