The closest that movie gets to the game is the color of mario and luigi' s clothes, other than that it has absolutely no relevance to any of the mario games.
And yeah it was basically complete trash.

I saw it, which is bad enough, but I remember renting it from Blockbuster on 2 distinct and seperate occasions. That' s when I started to doubt my own sanity.

I actually still own this movie on VHS. I can see it from where I' m sitting now. It took place in Dinohattan and not the Mushroom Kingdom lol.
