ps3 losing publishers

According to Next Generation' s summary of a recent Bloomberg story, it looks like Sony is having problems finalizing its hardware specs for the eagerly awaited PlayStation 3, due out this November in Japan and the US. But the inability to settle on final hardware specifications is making some top-tier publishers nervous. In the Bloomberg story, both THQ and Sega expressed dismay about the state of Sony' s PS3 hardware. Sega of America president Simon Jeffrey complains that Sony has yet to send PS3 development kits to many of its developers, and even goes so far as the say that there " certainly will not be a lot of titles available" for the PS3 when it launches this November. THQ' s president, Brian Farrell, also expresses concern with the state of Sony' s PS3 hardware. THQ had once planned on creating a PlayStation 3 game based on The Sopranos; now, that game will come out for the Xbox 360 instead, at least for the time being.this from gamepro.com " THQ' s president, Brian Farrell, also expresses concern with the state of Sony' s PS3 hardware. No matter how you look at it, Sony' s future is starting to look kinda grim.

This is the main problem which has me concerned about buying a PS3. I' m just wondering which platform Japanese developers will go for instead, if they decide to leave Sony in the lurch too. More Wii games? Yay! If Polyphony Digital ever leave Sony' s side, we' ll definitely know PS' s end is near. Maybe it' s for the best, I' m not sure.

Ah I see, heh, my bad. Well then it really would be the end of Sony if Polyphony leaves!

Was there this level of backlash around the time of the PS2 launch though? I wasn' t interested in it at the time so didn' t notice.

As far as I remember, devs and publishers were mostly really excited to be working on the PS2 before it came out. I' ve not heard much great feedback from them this time round though. But I have heard a lot of praise for Wii' s ingenuity and 360s developer support however. It' s usually stuff like this that helps me decide which system to get. Along with Sony' s attitude and the latest rumours about Sony' s plans, I don' t see anything that' ll convince me to get a PS3 now, even though I definitely wanted one this time last year. [:' (]

I' m really fed up with sony. Do they even realize what they' re doing wrong? Or are they trying to fail completely. I' m still getting one, but they really need to work out their crap.

I always thought Polyphony Digital was owned by sony in some way or another? Was I mistaken? EDIT: I suppose not - That logo must' ve been old - they are not part of Sony - no more that is.They are ,as people call it, 2nd party developer now. That still makes them kind of close :) I' m really fed up with sony. Do they even realize what they' re doing wrong? Or are they trying to fail completely. I' m still getting one, but they really need to work out their crap. Why would they? -check what you wrote: -you' re fed up with them? bad +1 -They act towards failure? bad +1 -they are doing a lot of stuff wrong? bad +5 -you' re still getting one? good +100000000000 x 10000000000 ____________________________________________________ That means Sony' s doing great , cause everyone thinks like you do. :) " yeah it sux, we hate it and we' re getting it on launch or a few months after" They can' t loose with that kind of support.
