Whats your gamer Rig? - Apr 17, 2004 13:51
I pretty much have a small one while I re-work the room.

Got the Sony Flat-Screen 27 inch. Xbox using the the S-Video cord. Cable connection which i hopefully will renew my Live subscription. I also plan on hooking up the stereo w/ surround sound later on. My other game systems, sit like trophys on a self next to the TV.

Thats pretty much my gamer rig.

O ya I also got an old Pac-Man arcade in my garage that I plan on settin up next to my lil entertainment center.

I actually downgraded my gaming rig a few weeks ago, Now I just plug the consoles into my laptop and play games through the small capture screen of Adobe Premiere 6, LOL!!

Yeah, Ima glutton for punishment... I' ve been meaning to get a 27 inch Sony Trinitron or maybe a Panasonic 27 inch flat screen but ahhh so many expenses right now. I' ll do so in June I guess..

I don' t have any real gaming set up (I just play where I can) but if I was to hook up all my stuff my setup would be:

27 inch flat screen TV
300 w. surround sound system (four speakers, no woofer)
A crap load of different consoles
DVD Player
VCR
Digital Cable

I don' t really have a setup.
I just have a 21" Panasonic TV .
Also play on my computer which is pretty well right next to the TV.
Nothing special though
Might get a new TV over the summer though

my friend, o god he has a powerhouse gamer rig.

Its hard to describe, but imagine the biggest plasma screen tv you ever seen, with tower speakers on each side. friggin insane surround sound and one major sub woofer or whatever those thigns are. now thats just the TV setup.

He got each current gen console setup next to one another, i dunno what av connection he got with them but the picture is so crisp and clear.

He has this comfy ass chair and on a movabl tray next to it his fancy ass laptop.

Thats the best way to descirbe it i guess but im sure im leaving out som stuff. He dont live in a big house (its obvious where the money goes) but he sets up stuff for best use.

Well I' ve got a few different setups, no cash to get a decent one yet, but at University I got a 17" CRT Monitor and the Xbox hooked up to it Via an X2VGA box, so I can get 480P, 720P and 1080i resolutions out of it, the quality is amazing, better than a component setup going to a Plasma, VGA is the best form for playing games/viewing videos before going digital....for the audio I have a Boston 2.1 Setup but it' s all digital, had to solder a Coaxial output to the back of the Xbox so I could connect the speakers up to it...i' d like to get a LACIE 22" Monitor when I have some spare cash....

At home I just got a regular 28" JVC Widescreen.....it' s my parents, but no good for playing games as most games are not in widescreen, I got the Official XBOX advanced scart lead, so the best form of video I can get from it is RGB, but the X2VGA looks so much better...

And for the other Xbox I have, I got 3 in all, that' s just in pieces, need to order some replacement parts for it, and I just got a basic 5.1 system for that, but no screen yet, thinking of purchasing another X2VGA, and getting hold of a Flat Screen CRT, as them LCD' s are rubbish for displaying games...

Before I got hold of the X2VGA I use to use a TV tuner on my PC and connect the xbox up to it via S video, it was ok as you can use the net while playing xbox live all on the same screen....the good thing about that was that you can record stuff from games, like when playing shenmue there was these QTE events where you had to tap certain buttons quickly to perform a move, which was displayed on the screen, but sometimes ther were too quick to see, so I just record it on my pc hard disk and play it back in slow mo...anyway although the svideo connection on my tv tuner card is not even close to the quality of the X2VGA adapter, it' s better than the RGB connection on my tv, too much stuff is faded out when playing on the tv...
