pirated games everywhere - May 06, 2005 03:35
when ps3 is released, will it be piracy proff?i live here in the phillipines, and pirated games are sold publicly.most of my games are pirated cause its very cheap here.sony once said back in 1998 that theyll release a ps1 that will be harder to modify, and games that wont play on older system.but as it turns out,the newer ps1(model 9000+)has been still easily modified.and the games still ran on older models.xbox and ps2 too has been told that cannot or will be harder to modify, but when it was released here, tons of it are already modified,(i bought my ps2 already " chipped" )and you dont have to boot the system, coz the chip allows the ps2 to load pirated games, all region dvds without using a boot disc.i think the chip is called messiah.sony, microsoft, and other companies should crack this pirates.

One of the big points Sony is advertising is that the PS3 will be easy to pirate games for. No worries!

Pirated games costed multimillion dollar losses in sales, too.

Only if you assume that for every game pirated, the person would have purchased a legitimate copy of the game if the bootlegs weren' t available. That' s certainly not true, as some people pirate games because they are cheap/free and for no other reason.
