FASA Studios Shuts down
-

TeamXbox Crimson Skies was a blast. Shadowrun was ok, but limited. Big loss? Not really. They will continue to support Shadowrun for a bit longer, but whats there is there pretty much. Most were relocated thruout Microsoft Game Studios and such.

Does that mean no more Mechwarrior games? Shame on you Microsoft. That was a favourite of mine.

I' d have to say good riddance. FASA had not made anything good at all for many years. I don' t think they could have done the Mechwarrior series justice even if they had stayed on. I think it' s Microsoft that owns the rights to Mechwarrior anyway. So there' s nothing stopping them from one day passing it to a more able studio. Whether or not they will remains to be seen. All I really wanted was Mechwarrior 5. To be able to sit in the cockpit of a Mad Cat, fire my PPC' s, and watch my foes disintegrate with super realistic graphics... edit: Actually after a bit of reading I found out that the Mechwarrior/BattleTech franchise is owned by WizKids, a company founded by FASA veteran Jordan Weisman. It does not look like the dissolution of FASA will have any effects on WizKids. The IP is safe but whether they' ll do anything with it is unknown.

No, they are not. They have been moved to other MGS developers so they can give those games the certain " Shadowrun" -flair.

They deserve to die after what they did to Shadowrun. We' ve got a cult favorite RPG franchise, what should we do with it? Oh, Let' s make a online shooter, just like everybody else! fucking morons. Good riddance.
