Install this PC Copy of Metal Gear solid 2 (i have had unopened for years) to try and get me into the game in prepreation for MGS4? Is it worth 6 Gigs of my harddrive?

Ehhh? Ive already finished Excite Truck and had a great experience with it, But WTF has exite truck got to do with MGS ??

I was thinking about it.. i tried to install this PC game but it won' t work , so i might just do that..

Not a fan of MGS but as i understand it MGS 1 was the best of the 3. I hear 2 wasn' t all that great..

MGS1 was the best one, yeah.

THe original though, not the Matrix Snake remake for Gamecube.

MGS on Playstation was badass. The Gamecube remake was meh.

MGS2 was badass for like an hour (the opening Tanker level, which remains one of the best openings to a game i' ve ever played), ...but the rest of the game was mushy. Most of it was pretty good but the last quarter was awful.

MGS3 was meh at best. It lacked the style on the 2nd game and felt tacky. The jungle sections sucked and the base sections weren' t brilliant but it was a good looking game and Subsistence revision added a better camera angle.

So with a record like that, why is everyone so excited for mgs4?

I' m not too excited about MGS4 actually. The stuff I' ve seen didn' t do much for me and I' m quite a fan of the series...

I did like MGS2 though unlike many others. I didn' t like the weird thing that happened to one of the protagonists (tries to avoid spoiler) but decided to look past it :P

It' s even to the point where I can' t really chose a favorite MGS game. Maybe the third one then for me personally.

Out of all the MGS games, MGS2 Sons of Liberty has the highest average rating on gamerankings.com.

EDIT: Well, except for the GBC version but I don' t think we can compare eh?

Mgs 1 was brillant. dont play the gc version.

Mgs2 was confused, but its under rated and should be played by any sort of an mgs fan.

Mgs3, I loved it, I thought unlike 2, the story wasnt confuseing and silly [i understand it now after about 6 years] The jungle brought some nice gameplay twists, and the boss battle with the End was epic.

MGS2 happend to come out during a time when it finally showcased the ps2.

mgs2 still looks good, It aged well. Unlike mgs1.

A lot of psx games that feels unplayed today thanks to the bad camera and d pad controls in 3d.

I mean just try lara croft to psx today,I cant understand how we managed to play it at that time.

Tombi was a cool game.

Yeah it is. I beat that game last year and it was a really fun plattformer with some nice gameplay. Definitely one of the best plattformers for PS1.

Is the sequel any good btw.?

Didn' t play it but I heard it was quite disappointing.
