I' m looking to get a third one used - so I can dismantle it and install PSP2TV. I understand the risk which is why I' m using a used system as the guinea pig unit

It would seem the Japanese screen was made by Sharp and not Samsung as i thought. The US models have Samsung screens but for some reason the Japanese ones are clearer and have less ghosting.

Oh crap I forgot to address Majik' s inquiry! I honestly have no idea what the REAL deal is because at the PSP forum I hang out at they' ve been saying that the screens of all PSPs are made by the same manufacturer. So I really have no idea whether it' s all Sharp or if Samsung was brought in at some point.

Roms and other forms of pirated games are illegal (and bios roms) while emulators are not.

Ruining your warranty isn' t illegal - you can buy some electronics and mod the shit out of them as long as you don' t have illegal games,movies and software on it.

Some homebrew software is illegal, but that' s because it uses the official sourcecode of Xbox dashboard for instance, which makes it illegal since parts of it' s code are stolen.

even if they are all using the same screens now, I think some are produced in Japan (Jap market) Whilst the rest are done in Korea or Singapore or somewhere and the quality is ever so slightly lower...

well thats what I was told, certainly seems that any of the Jap units have had no dead pixels etc...

I used to always buy Sharp phones for their brilliant screen resolutions, even though
the camera was crap, the screen display made it look so great!

So if the Japs are getting this kinda PSP, expect it to sell like hotcakes.. On another
note, I don' t really travel, so I don' t actually use my PSP. It really is a travellers
console, one that people like Majik benefit from, but I am an indoor console player
so PSP is just a knotch on my gaming belt; a trophy console if you must.
