ORIGINAL: Silentbomber hmm I thought you were black all the time... Zing! GTHD is not a next-gen game. To get a next-gen game running at 1080p with anything resembling 30fps WHEN next-gen effects, HDR lighting, Havok, etc is used, is the point. So stop trying to be a smartass. Next. I think Adam is pissed off over all of the ps3 being delayed stuff. Kikizo were the first people to go hands on with PS3 hardware, there exclusive attracted the entire damn internet. But how can someone dare queation the validity of the information?! I mean, Adam isn' t just some passionless journalist, he knows games, he knows the technology and he knows what' s bullshit and what' s not. If something wasn' t right then he' d question it before rolling with the article. Adam, are you ever likely to be able to tell us which developer it was?!

Well Adam maybe u are rigth about ur source, but what about Alex aserting that the PS3 wont be able to play 1080p hd movies out of the box due to the (posible) lack of HDMI cable, i mean, god damn, everybody knows that component cables can very damn well support 1080p, so??? what the hell happened there??? owners of the top model PlayStation 3 will still need to shell out for an appropriate HDMI cable if they want to watch Blu-ray movies in 1080p Maybe u are rigth and i missbahave so i apologize to all BTW sorry for playing Lazaro whit this old thread but the damn school wont leave me alone until weekend About Virtual Figther 5 coming to the Xbox360 are u ready to take my bet or what???, if u can guive us a hint of who told u that there wont be any PS3 1080p games just yet that would be great.

Component cables may well be able to carry a 1080p signal but there are almost zero televisions that accept a 1080p signal through anything BUT a digital cable (DVI/HDMI), so NO, you WON' T be able to play in 1080p through a component cable. I suggest sitting down and shutting up.

0.05% of current HDTV' s support 1080p via component. They are the REALLY expensive ones. If you own one that does support 1080p through component then i invite you to make a sign with " Majik is a fucking dick" written on it and take a picture of you holding the sign infront of your uber-priced 1080p HDTV.

Why are Sony making so much noise about 1080p games? When they know they can achieve more detail at 720p? It' s a numbers game all over again, I have heard too many peopl spewing nonsense over 1080p, andthen you ask them what the " P" stands for, and they say " Well 1080 is obviously higher than 720, so more numbers (morons) equals better" Fernandino, you don' t have a TV that puts out a 1080p signal, that google search taking ages just proves it... Why not put some pictures up... All you people banging on relentlessly about the excitement of 1080p games.. Then you check your living rooms and realise that you have nothing to experience 1080p... Is this world so full of idiots now?

Truly i cannot understand all that fuss over 1080p!! Isn' t 720p more than enough?? I do not know much about the differences between them(haven' t seen 1080p in action yet) but isn' t Sony overhyping 1080p??

Then of course it makes sense for Sony to overhype it.. M$ are trying to push for 720p, still the thunder from them by stressing on a higer number... Then dumb people fall for it.. and somehow wonder here. " OMG! 1080p!!! W00T W00T!!!" Losers..

ORIGINAL: Adam Doree GTHD is not a next-gen game. To get a next-gen game running at 1080p with anything resembling 30fps WHEN next-gen effects, HDR lighting, Havok, etc is used, is the point. So stop trying to be a smartass. Next. Orly? At its press event in Tokyo yesterday, Sega revealed, or rather boasted, that Virtua Tennis 3 runs in 1080p on the PS3. Displaying the game on slick HD sets with 1080p placards next to them, it looked absolutely glorious in high-res. http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3153716 If I' m a smart ass, obviously you' re a dumb ass (correctly mentioned by someone else on page one BTW). Yes I know you added a bunch of hyper-specific qualifiers to cover your secret developer' s FALSE prediction, but 95% of the people who read it (you and your fanboi crew aside) took it to mean exactly what he said about the impossibility of achieving smooth framerates in 1080P games... " buh buh but it can' t do 1080P with the Havok physics engine! ...an an and it can' t do it with HDR lighting! " ... that still doesn' t change the FACT that we are seeing 1080P games (now near launch!) on 1st gen software! Not only that, the bottom line is that it looks extremely good according to these initial impressions. I' d be surprised if VT3 is not 60fps, but it is still smooth and looking " absolutely glorious" in 1080P at 30fps. So while it may be true that your secret developer can' t achieve this himself on whatever Ms. Pac-Man port he may be working on, obviously actual talented game makers are taking care of business. GT:HD is going to be released and is a game at 1080P from all accounts whether you like it or not, so that' s two titles known before system launch already. Not enough for you? Unconfirmed titles possibly in 1080P for the PS3 include: NBA 07 WarDevil Resistance:Fall of Man (I doubt it, but Insomniac says they are still working on it) Army of Two (EA action co-op title, non-English article found here): http://www.ps3focus.nl/sitee/nieuws/bekijk.php?id=2771&cat=catps3 Journalism 101 is a cheap class at any community college.... look into it before again making yourself look hideously biased in the future only to have your lame sources proven wrong. Whether you respond or not, I don' t care. I' ve wasted enough of my time at your wanna-be news site based on the " quality" staff I' ve seen so far. I won' t be back.... that is unless you reveal your developer source so we can all point, laugh, and avoid whatever it is he' s working on.

I' m not really suprised at all that Virtua Tennis 3 runs at 1080p. 1080p/720p, it' s not really impressive at all. It doesn' t really help your argument much. It' s not a graphically intensive game. Once the game loads it is basically a static environment. There are no sprawling landscapes with insane draw distances or complex geometric shapes with high res textures being rendered on the fly. Once I see a game graphically equivalent or close to UT2007/Gears of War running at 1080p, with a universal physics system and HDR lighting, I' ll be impressed. But until then 1080p is a moot point. I think that' s what Adam is trying to say.

Great, ...but again, there' s not an awful lot going on in the game. As we' ve already mentioned, we' re talking about " true next-gen" games, and by that we mean games that use self-shadowing, high-dynamic-range lighting, incorporation of advanced shader models, advanced particle and post processing effects, advanced physics etc. You know exactly what we mean, and the simple fact that as soon as a game (any game that wasn' t a 1080p version of a previous generation title) has been announced to be running in 1080p, you' ve come straight here to rain abuse is f*cking pathetic!

As we previously reported, Sony hopes to have Resistance: Fall of Man and NBA 07 running in 1080p as well, but isn' t sure yet whether this will be possible in time for their release. For the time being, there are now two games confirmed to run in 1080p on the PS3. from the same article. You guys should relax a bit. While I won' t be getting a 1080p TV anytime soon this resolution is a lot higher than 720p.It has also been decided that it will be the true HD resoluton (by the movie industry).I' d rather have my games detailed than so extremely sharp , but it seems like this 1080p is no longer unachievable and you all know that PS devs are always slow at first and then they start to make things much better. Guy gave you a link to a true story with name behind it.Ofcourse you can wait for Shenmue trilogy released on next gen systems and VF5 for 360 but don' t get carried away guys. This VT3 story indeed proves something.1080p could be more common than many of us thought. 360 fanboys in most of you are undeniable and often silly.

360 fanboys in most of you are undeniable and often silly. I hope that' s not directed at me. Y' know, i think everybody would rather have more detailed games than games capable of running in 1080p, but yes, 1080p has benefits for those that own a 1080p capable TV. But this guy is a moron. It' s that simple. The article from kikizo that he' s refering to was itself refering to an earlier article from months ago. To come and act like he has it just sad and it' s obvious which camp he belongs to. What do you want Kikizo to do; start putting " all details are correct at the time of writing" at the end of every article?!
