i' ve seen face/off when i was 17 i guess , therefore my way of critisizing has changed a lot, but still i remmember it as a very good movie ocean' s eleven it' s the first one because the second one is called ocean' s twelve. The last samurai (why no way, you made it sound like a bad movie which is defenitly not) Next Target: Blade runner, it' s a 1983 though and for sc-fi movie i might not enjoy it , would someone give me his thaughts ?

i' ve seen face/off when i was 17 i guess , therefore my way of critisizing has changed a lot, but still i remmember it as a very good movie I' m quite familliar with that feeling. I to many of those and I' m actually kind of scared about rewatching some of my favourite flicks from my precious childhood, as I' m afraid I' ll be dissapointed. Also, It' s not because my sense in movies have changed for the better, rather it simply just has " changed" as you so delicatly put it. ocean' s eleven it' s the first one because the second one is called ocean' s twelve. The first one is with Frankie and the boys. The last samurai (why no way, you made it sound like a bad movie which is defenitly not) Because it ripped history to shreds and spitted culture in its the face. But don' t get me wrong, you are entitled to like the movie. I just don' t like the fact that they changed Saigo into an Anderson played by Tom Cruise. Edit: Frankie = Sinatra Edit once again: Also, did you know that Hollywoods going to make a movie, most likely produced by Leonardo DiCaprio, called Kite, which is based on a Japanese cartoon porno flcik by the same name. (the choice of words was simply for comedic effect, " Japanese cartoon porno flcik" = Ero Anime aka HENTAI! )

who respect my list here? I might disagree with you on Analyze That, that movie wasn' t really as good as it could have been. Also, why no Akira? You' ve seen Akira, right? That didn' t make the list?

Instead of listing every film i love (which would be a BIG list) i' m simply listing the directors and the films they directed that have had the most effect on me. I guess these could almost be classed as a list of my all time favourite films, however fims that would be in that list like; The Godfather, The 51st State, Ong Bak, Casshern, The Big Blue and Taxi are absent because this isn' t a list of my all time favourite films, -- anyways -- Quentin Tarantino Reservoir Dogs Pulp Fiction Jackie Brown Kill Bill Vol 1 Kill Bill Vol 2 Robert Rodriguez Desperado From Dusk til Dawn Sin City Guy Ritchie Lock Stock & 2 Smoking Barrels Snatch Zhang Yimou Hero House of Flying Daggers Michael Mann Heat Ali Collateral Luc Besson Nikita Leon The Fifth Element Brian De Palmer Scarface Martin Scorsese Taxi Driver Goodfellas Casino David Fincher Se7en Fight Club Danny Boyle Trainspotting 28 Days Later Stephen Norrington Blade Ridley Scott Alien Blade Runner Gladiator Curtis Hanson LA Confidential

i' ve just seen reservoir dogs yesterday and i think that this movie is bit overrated , i don' t know why it is a classic, some people tend to give very high scores just because it is original and stylish but i guess that' s not enough to make a film a classic. i rated this movie 8.5/10 which is good but i believe that pulp fiction is way beter if i have to rank quentin tarantino movies Pulp fiction Kill bill vol 2 reservoir dogs kill bill vol1 apart from pulp fiction which is a classic for me, all of them are good movies.

I agree with Majik, everything from Quentin is genius and I like most of the movies from Majik' s list. I like half the movies you guys mentioned but would like to add a few more Four Rooms (another Quentin Tarantino movie, its strange and fucked up, my favorite) The Big Lebowski (everyone should see this movie) Office Space (Jennifer Aniston is in the movie but it still kicks ass) Terminator 2 (I saw this when I was pretty young, I didn' t think it was possible to see anything cooler then Batman, but there it was the fucking Terminator!) Bad Santa (When I saw this movie I laughed so much I had whip-lash.)

..hey majik, if you like Brian DePalma, check out some of his other great films... ...notably Raising Cain 9/10 (John Lithgow, 1992):- a hysterically funny black psychological thriller.... ..and Carrie 10/10 (Sissy Spacek, John Travolta, 1976):- horror based on Stephen Kings bestseller of the same name..

Yeah, i' ve seen them both and i have Raising Cain on DVD, but while i like tons of other films, the ones i listed are the ones i consider to be true workd of art. mine are x-men and spider man were my best movies eversince! Ever since what exactly? X-men and Spiderman (and i presume you mean the sequels too), were nothing but acceptable comicbook adaptions. Great examples of how to make comics into movies are Sin City and Blade (just the original). I missed off Big Blue, The Maltese Falcon and Hitchcocks Psycho because i wanted to list films that EVERYONE would be able to relate to. I' m suprised nobody has listed A Clockwork Orange yet. Personally i hate it but it' s highly revered by critics and many movie-goers so i thought sombody would have mentioned it.

...A Clockwork Orange is utter garbage... but while i like tons of other films, the ones i listed are the ones i consider to be true workd of art. ...are you seriously saying that Kill Bill Vol 2, Jackie Brown & Desperado, are all true art? over Carrie?? ..you jest, right?...

Over Carrie?! Sure! Desperado is pure genius and even the 3rd in the series of Rodriguez' s Mexican Western' s (with Desperado and Once Upon a Time... being remakes of Mariachi rather than direct sequels) couldn' t better it. I love Westerns anyway but a Mexican Pulp Western that has Cheech (of ...and Chong fame) in it along with great dialogue and awesome style?! Then yeah, i' d take that before Carrie any day. Kill Bill: Vol 2 wasn' t what everybody expected, but i found it much more engrossing than Vol 1 in that it had far superior dialogue. ANYTHING dirceted by Tarantino will be highly regarded in my book, the man is the greatest director alive (in my opinion ofcourse). Same goes for Jackie Brown i guess. It had unbelievably good dialogue, a nice slow pace and was perfectly shot. Plus, Jacksons AK47 speech is a classic in it' s own right!

...abasou, i' m not trash talking you, merely pointing out that anyone who thinks that: Analyze That (2002) Analyze This (1999) The Blair Witch Project (1999) Ocean' s Eleven (2001) Swordfish (2001) ...are amongst the best films ever made.. over such films as: 2001: A Space Odyssey The Shining Apocalypse Now Superman Raiders of the Lost Ark Blade Runner Alien Aliens The Matrix Trilogy Halloween The Thing Akira Carrie Enter The Dragon Predator The Empire Strikes Back Return of The Jedi Natural Born Killers The Exorcist JFK The Abyss Close Encounters of the 3rd Kind Poltergeist Twelve Monkeys One Flew Over the Cuckoo' s Nest American Beauty Jaws etc. ...clearly knows nothing about films... .... tip: ' all time' means from when cinema was invented....

The Martix Trilogy?! Ew! The first film was awesome but the only good thing about the 2nd and 3rd are the nice special effects. The films themselves were dire!
