Actually, it seems I owe you an apology, Dra6on. I misread what Loco said/meant, and now I must agree that he was being an ass. So sorry Dra6on. As for you Loco, Quake III is better by leaps and bounds. 2-3 times a week in my Networking class we play Quake III despite the fact that we all have UT2k4 and Quake IV. Quake III is regarded by many as the first and greatest popularly played online FPS. And to claim intimate knowledge of which games forum members have played/play/own is ridiculous. Thats not to say its the best ever, but it has definately withstood the test of time better than any of the Unreal games.

No worries dude, no worries at all. I have a lot of respect for you and i appologise for being overly aggressive What do you want to end up doing, career-wise?! Games development?! I' d say if you are already doing Visual Basic, .Net, and C++ you' re off to an excellent start, much more so than when i was your age (i' m only 23 mind and doing my degree).

Alright, here is my opinion of what is better. I' ll let you know my experience that I have so you know why my opinion is the way it is. I' ve played all versions of quake (1,2,3,4 and all expansions for each). I' ve also played all the Unreal and Unreal Tournament games. I' ve also played many other fps games new and old, I started out playing wolfenstein 3D (the first fps game). I' ve been playing them since they' ve existed. I' m not trying to brag here, just give you my experience. I' m very good at first person shooters and I have played in professional tournaments. I could be a " professional gamer" if I wanted to take that path. So here is what I think about them. Quake 3 Arena was and is the best as far as " pure classic deathmatch" is concerned. Free for Alls and CTF. Quake 4 is pretty much just Quake 3 with some minor changes and better graphics. Quake 3 is actually better because it doesn' t matter what part of the player you hit for the amount of damage. It really shouldn' t for the type of death match it is. Unreal Tournament was a better game for things like assault and instagib. Unreal Tournament 2004 is what I would say the best multiplayer FPS is. UT2k4 adds a lot more to requiring movement skill. There is a good variety of weapons and they all are very balanced almost as much as Quake 3. It is better than quake 3 because it adds much more skill with the movement aspect. It is also much better for team type games like CTF and Bombing Run and of course Onlsaught. It is way faster paced than any other FPS. It requires much skill in both movement and aiming. Also with UT2k4 strategy plays a lot bigger role as well. In Quake 3 the levels and weapons aren' t designed so much for that but for " pure deathmatch" . Since someone was talking about counter-strike. CS is much more based on strategy and aiming. You can' t compare it much because it is a much different game.

I hope it comes out on 360, but even if it does I' m still much more interested in Huxley which is a fpsmmo using unreal 3 game engine. EDIT: Well after reading everyones posts, mine doesn' t fit into the conversation. Oh well tough shit I' m drunk and I' m not changing it.
