Super Mario V Grand Theft Auto..... What a joke !!!!

I have to agree with bobbers - Mario really is THAT good.

...?

Sarcasm? The guy is obviously demented to think that Sony' s PSP is anywhere near as good as Nintendo' s DS!

Now i like my PSP. I imported it from Japan through liksang.com when it was released, meaning i' ve had it more than a year now. I' ve played virtually ever game that' s been released, except for Fifa and King Kong...

Wipeout Pure is an absolute marvel and Pursuit Force (which i got 2 weeks ago) is another great exaple of what the machine is capable of. I bought Prince of Persia Revelations but i haven' t played it yet but hear it' s impressive apart from some sound issues and load times...

I got GTA on it' s day of release and was blown away with it. It was a technical improvement on GTA3 and i was astounded that it was running on a handheld. But graphics don' t make games, and gameplay is sorely lacking from many PSP titles.

I own a total of 17 PSP games and i have more UMD' s, but i' ve probably spent 2-3 times as much time playing games on my DS (which i only have 6 games for).

I guess it comes down to what kind of games you really want to play, and while the PSP has the advantage of being able to play mp3s, store & view images and play video, for me, as far as games are concerned i' d take my DS anyday of the week.

Sonic Rush is f**kin' brilliant! Super Mario 64 DS improves on the original! Mario Kart DS is utterly addictive, especially over Wi-Fi! There' s a reason DS is killing PSP worldwide but importantly in Japan.

When the PSP' s CPU is unrestricted, the load times should vastly improve. But unfortunately that won' t make the D-Pad or the analog nub any better, which is a shame really...

Of course, we all know that GTA is much better than Mario in every respect.

Sonic Rush is great. Hence the great reviews (9.0/10 at IGN).

Perhaps you found it too hard?

I' d take the first level of Super Mario Bros on the 8-bit NES over the entire Grand Theft Auto series any day. It' s not just GTA, it' s crime games in general. They are now extremely passé.

I echoe these sentiments exactly, only less sophisticated like. Crime games suck ass.

And was that a hint of sarcasm I detected in Adams post?????

So, a Nintendo fanclub seems to be arising here. I saw two seven year-old girls in Sainsbury' s the other day both playing on pink DS' s with pink carry cases over their shoulders. The DS' s screens are half the size of the PSP' s, and having two screens isn' t that good. You can' t look at both of them at once. It' s made of plastic and its tacky, and a few old classic games like Sonic can' t make up for the consoles short-comings. You seem to be being purposefully controversialto seek attention. Face it, the PSP is the ultimate portable, and always will be.

Bobbers, in short, you' re a dick!

Perhaps you should play on a DS and see firsthand what it' s like before you condemn it.

I have both units and the DS is better for games. Perhaps though you like badly ported half-assed console games and stupid loading times?!

I' m guessing you' re about 14 and just use it to watch porn on the go...

Review scores are out of 10 and from ign.com..

DS

Sonic Rush 9.0
Super Mario 64 DS 8.9
Mario Kart 9.5
Meteos 9.0
Advance Wars: Dual Strike 9.0
Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow 9.3
Viewtiful Joe: Double Trouble 8.5

PSP

GTA: Libery City Stories 9.0
Virtua Tennis World Tour 8.5
Burnout Legends 8.5
Prince of persia: Revelations 6.0
Midnight Club 3: Dub Edition 7.1
Fifa Soccer 06 7.4
Need For Speed: Most Wanted 5-1-0 7.5

I chose the most recognisable titles form each platform, but even if you look at the rest of the review scores you' ll find that DS has more games with higher scores than PSP does.

The only REALLY good game for PSP is Wipeout Pure, which got 9.3, but most other PSP titles suffer from stupidly long load times and sound problems. The PSP can do a lot of impressive stuff but as far as games concerned DS has way better games.

Graphics don' t make games!

The PSP has absolutly no original games that are interesting. The only game that is somewhat interesting to me is Ridge Racer 79675690, and it' s just another Ridge Racer. But like I said, portable systems are for second rate people who rank much lower in society. Why are we talking about portable systems anyway? Consoles are the only systems that actually count for anything.

I think I' ll wait for a few more RPGs to be released on the PSP before getting one. I have played a few games on my cousin' s PSP, so I' m not being biased. I' m just going to wait, that' s all.

I think I have a total of 12 DS games, but have only played a handful of PSP games, so all I can say on the matter is that it depends on what type of games you' re into.

To bad you cant ban people for being stupid and ignorent, the fact that 7 year old girls can enjoy games on the DS just shows its brilliance, its not just for hardcore gamers, its for everyone. But yes, Bobbers believes so much in Sony he actually almost sounds like Stringer or Katarugi (or whats his name)

Don' t be so harsh on bobbers, we were all young once and held such views (well most of us prolly). It' s something you have to grow out of on your own, more experienced people just telling you something is true won' t change your mind.

Comparing consoles is a ridiculous notion anyhoo, as we all know it' s the games themselves that count. Most people on this forum I' m sure would agree that the DS has more good games, but sure the PSP has its uses - movies, music (I currently use mine as a paperweight) - and is pretty to look at, so what if there are only a couple of games worth playing for it and none to look forward to in the near future?

Anyhoo, I' d suggest that this is the wrong forum for my-console-is-better-than-your-console willy waving, and definitely the wrong thread - which started out as a request to Adam about Shenmue/Yu Suzuki.

....I don' t own either machine, but i understand that the PSP is technically the superior machine by quite a large margin.... but is suffering badly from poor software...

...kinda reminds me of the Xbox v PS2 war.....

...kudos to Mr Rowley for not taking advantage of his position.... ...stars should be earned..
