In the 1up " opening Halo 3" video the case they open up that came with the legendary edition had also fallen off and no doubt been scratched. If you wanna see it for yourself, check it out, it' s also funny just to see how much the fat nerdy guys love the Halo stuff.

Not really. They work for minor stuff but their success varies. The one we have at work is worth several hundred dollars and basically sands down the entire protective layer and then adds a new one - restoring it to a near original state.

Yup its true my halo disc was a couple of scratches on it not obvious ones but still.

Maybe it was the case or maybe it was the 5 days straight of non stop playing.

The Collecters edtion has the making of and a few other extra' s the Legendary is the all bells and whistles with the spartan helmet, well that' s how it is being marketed in the UK and Europe, it might be different in the US and Canada.

I stand corrected, but I was misinformed as the article stated there was a limited edition(the one with the crappy case), the legendary(one with helmet), and the regular edition which is as it name says regular.

I' ve had mine (CE) for about 12 hours now and enjoying it immensely. Can' t see any defects in the casing or DVD which is a good sign. Seems odd too because the DVD does fit rather snug into the hub, and unless I literally threw the tin case across the room into a brick wall, I doubt it' d break free. None of the people I know who have it have received scratched discs either. Maybe it' s only an issue in the US?

i was gonna say the same. i even tested it with a blank disc took a good fall to knock the disc loose. may be poor handling at the store or blatent sabbatoge even?

All the confusion came about from the incorrectly written article in the first place. There is no LIMITED EDITION. Everywhere I go they list:

Standard Edition (SE)
Collectors Edition (CE)
Legendary Edition (LE)

It' s the Collectors Edition (CE) that' s the one with the problems. Only the Legendary Edition could be considered Limited Edition too because from what I' ve read, they only produced a limited amount.

I think it' s because they' re referring to the Collectors Edition as the Limited Collectors Edition.

Well I bought the Limited Edition and didnt have any problems with it. I pre-ordered from gamestop. But the second disc was loose in the back of the case so im guessing that is what all the fuss is about. Maybe Microsoft will get that worked out. Hopefully!!!

I got the limited edition and the disc was loose in there when I got it. When I opened it up it was in perfect zero scratch condition though. Then I put it in my 360 and it wouldn' t load. Then took it out and realized I put it in backwards. But it didn' t get damaged at all and still had zero scratches, then I put it in the correct way and it worked perfect.
