Halo3 support 1080p,*** it!

Even if you break 2 legs from a crab it still runs! What you gotta do is find its weak spot and do massive damage at it.

quez was that sarcasm, or is something wrong with 1080p... except for the fact that a 1080p could look better if it supported only 720p, i don' t see any problem.

... First of all,if they managed to crank the resolution up to 1080p it means the graphic effects and textures wasn' t at its best. If they could crank the resolution up to an extra level. 2nd of all people with SDTV and HDTV up to 720p/1080i lose again.

Halo has never been anything special in the graphics department. Some people think it looks cartoony, I think the style makes it look simple. Multiplayer is what I' m interested in. And as long as I can get it in a decent HD resolution, I couldn' t care less about texture quality. 2nd of all people with SDTV and HDTV up to 720p/1080i lose again. Erm... people with 1080i TV' s lose no matter what.

Woah, damn it. I would have preferred if they had concentrated on making the game look as good as CoD4, instead of making it run in " 1080p @ 120 fps" .

instead of making it run in " 1080p @ 120 fps" . You realise that' d never happen right? I mean, come on, the chances of Halo 3 coming to the PS3? Seriously.

Im sure halo3 gonna be one of the best fps ever made, dont get me wrong, can' t wait for the 4 player co-op etc. But I hate when developers make 1080p games,I said it before and im not gonna hide it when games do support it. Blue dragon however is a special case, because that game is a wonder on itself,it was made by a virgin on a holiday and it can crank itself up to 1080p for some mysterious reason. Oh holy Blue dragon, how we love ya.

2 weeks!? I have to listen to 2 weeks of this?! I might die a bit. Moving right back on topic. I doubt that Bungie would really make that much of a graphical sacrifice to make everything run in 1080p. They' re aware that the number of people that are going to be playing their game in 1080p native is very very small, and they' re aware that if they make it too butt ugly, their complaints department is going to be swamped for months. On the other hand. While the number of people who have 1080p displays is very low, for the most part they tend to be a very tech savvy crowd, and therefore quite a bit more vocal than the thousands of chavs playing on their 13" " high-quality" SDTVs. They would have gotten tons of angry feedback if they hadn' t supported it.

Erm... 3) Does the game support 1080p? 3) Yes, if your system does – through component or HDMI (depending on your TV and 360) and it is (wonderfully) scaled. Keyword: scaled. So Halo 3 does not natively output a 1080p signal. I assume it' s 720p upscaled to 1080p. If I understand things correctly, this does not take any extra processing power nor does it require them to lower the graphical fidelity of the game. They' re not sacrificing anything. I' m not a real HD buff but that' s what I can see.

there is like 20% of the people with hdtvs that has 1080p support. Dont see the reason to support it yet. Just a waste for us others. I can understand however that some developers might realise that ,hey wait the resolution didn' t affect hardly anything if they heavily focus on 3d effects from the start. And then why not? But if they developed with 1080p in mind them I think they' re doing us all not a service.

Do you mean to what extent? Couldn' t tell you that. I know next to nothing about the details of scaling. Nice words, howerver I dont belive it. Well... if it came directly from the Bungie page, there' s not a whole lot of room for correction there Quez.

My understanding of scaling is this: Shit in, Shit out. You' re not going to be able to get any better than what the source is. It can' t just magically create detail. Some TV' s can probably mask some of the flaws but it' s going to be limited. Halo 3 was always designed from the ground up on 720p (as many console games are for PS3/360). You could probably scale Halo 3 to 8345436x325935 and it' ll still be rendering a 720p image. We need a TV buff like Joe to really clarify things.

Its made by " frankie" . A community person. ANd you have now idea how the scaling works, might be hardly any diffrence at all. Show some pics and let us see.

1080p @ 120fps That' ll never happen. HDTVs are capped at 60fps as far as I know. They are not multisync, so they can' t do different framerates. They are always at 60, and lower framerates just have repeated frames here and there.

I was looking at HDTVs just recently and one supported 1080p @ 120 fps. The 360 has special hardware that does scaling and doesn' t take enough extra processing power to lower the frame rate. All 360 games can scale to 1080p, it isn' t a big deal. In response to " Does Halo 3 support 1080p?" ORIGINAL: Frankie 3. More than you know. So maybe it does support it natively. I would have doubted it but after they announced 4 player online coop I could see it happening, maybe with a limitation like not being able to do split screen at 1080p, maybe no limitations. If it does i' m getting rid of my regular 360 and getting one with HDMI.

ORIGINAL: locopuyo I was looking at HDTVs just recently and one supported 1080p @ 120 fps. Make, model and link, please. The official HDTV specs do not go up that high, so there is nothing to support that mode. It' s like creating a TV with a triangular screen. There is no triangle video available.

Akira Toiryama wont lose his credibility because you two dislike him. You ask anyone in Japan what they think about him and you will only hear praise.

I know most japs love him. A dude I partied with in Japan told me he had all Dragon Ball manga volumes from back when he was a child, said it was the bestest of all anime/manga. Except for Evangelion. Then we went on to discussing Gundam. Still, I don' t always agree with the japs or what everyone else thinks, and thus I am saying that I myself dislike Akiras artstyle, therefore wont enjoy looking at Blue Dragon or Dragon Ball. This doesn' t automatically mean that the rest of the game couldn' t possibly appeal to me, but it is a spot in the overall picture for me. Also, some points we' ve already established: the masses aren' t always correct, the Japs might have weird tastes (though they probably think the same of us), taste in art is personal so it is impossible to say what is good and what is bad. Also, I should point out that I actually enjoyed Toriyamas work for Chronotrigger somewhat.

I know some people who really looking forwards to BD who agrees with you two,AKiras art style is very unique in one way,for someone who hardly see anime he wont recognize whats akira, but others will. And btw Frog in CT were cool.

I can' t find it, it was probably just 1920x1080 @ 120 hz for using DVI with your computer or something. But on the site they put 1080p 120hz. 120Hz I can believe. It just displays everything twice. That makes for a rock-solid image. They already have 100Hz TVs in EU, and 120Hz TVs here would be natural. I' d buy one for sure. I don' t know if they' d be capable of displaying 120 independent images each second, depends on the input I suppose.

Well I know it was an LCD so 120hz from a 60hz image wouldn' t make a difference.

He' s right, it really wouldn' t make a difference. LCD is so slow anyway that you could never notice the difference. My 60Hz LCD monitor looks more solid than a 300Hz CRT. Or so...

Well if they increase the response rate over an equivalent LCD screen at the same time wouldn' t that make a difference for games at least? Instead of 5ms, have one with 1ms or faster. Most games I' m playing right now I' m seeing above 120 fps on my computer (that will change soon with Bioshock, UT 3 and TF2 though). I wouldn' t mind having a monitor at 120hz. Still I would much rather see an LCD with a 20 000:1+ contrast ratio and 10 bit colours than a 120hz screen. 60hz is good enough for me.
