The official HDTV specs do not go up that high, so there is nothing to support that mode. It' s like creating a TV with a triangular screen. There is no triangle video available.
He' s right, it really wouldn' t make a difference. LCD is so slow anyway that you could never notice the difference. My 60Hz LCD monitor looks more solid than a 300Hz CRT. Or so...
