Yes, eventually 360 will be thromped by PCs but it is very competetive right now. Especially when games are designed to take advantage of it. COD2 ran extremely well on 360 and the controls were done very well, COD4 isn' t going to suck on 360.

I agree with this. My main point, and maybe I should have just left it at that was that the 360 has 512mb of total ram not 512mb for it' s GPU as you stated. I will say this though. Because next gen consoles are in HD they need more ram than previous consoles. They lost a lot of efficiency with ram, but obviously they gained ground in the quality department with the transition to HD.

They' re competitive only because of the price advantage as well as the fact that it' s a console. Many types of games are just better on consoles and some are non existant on PC.

If PC' s had lots of the kind of games I like then I would definitely be investing in badass PC' s.
But somehow, consoles have managed to steal most of what I like, I don' t know why.
Since I don' t like most PC games that much, a mid-level PC is good enough for me. I don' t care much about graphics too so I can very much enjoy PC games on weak PC' s as long as the gameplay is intact.

That' s a bit of an exaggeration. 4 times 720p would take a couple of the highest resolution monitors. Video cards don' t even support resolutions that high. And even when you play games with the best equipment at really high resolutions you can' t max out the settings and get 60 fps.
And besides that there really isn' t anything out yet that is more impressive than Gears of War.

4 096 000 divided by 921 600=4.44....

Obviously most of us don' t have 30 inch monitors with two 8800GTX' s but some people do so the technology is available. Even one 8800GTX, hell even a 7900GTX or 1950XTX is more capable than then GPU in the 360 or PS3.

If you go number of pixels it isn' t, but I figured you were going by width or length.

Huh, a GPU doesn' t care what length or width the monitor is, it only knows how many pixels to output.
