So what' s the scariest game you have ever played? .....i think i agree with their top choice, but there are a lot here which i' ve never played...

...anyway, i think that the scariest game series is tied between Fatal Frame (Project Zero) and Silent Hill... ....i also agree that some games can actually be more creepy than they developers intended due to hardware limitations...

...anyway, post your top 3 games that made you crap your pants... ...mine are (low to high):

Where the f*ck was Condemned in that countdown?! Condemned was by far the scariest game I' ve ever played. After the department store level with the manicans... I' ll never look at one the same way again.

Silent Hill 1. Played it in the dark every night for a week with 3 friends. Scared the shit out of me.

Alone in the Dark 1, the very first surival horror game, that game scared the crap out of me!

You could say it was Sweet Home by Capcom, i havent plated it, but it should be more RPG than anything else, Shinji Mikami says it was inspiriation to him when he made RE.

Alone in the Dark was made in 1992, and RE was made in 96, so not counting Sweet Home, Alone in the Dark was the first of its type!

Ive never found any ' horror' games scary TBH.

Its always the games that ur not expecting to be scary.


I remember Spy vs Spy being really creepy!

Going through all these strange rooms, frantically looking for or hiding certain objects, then all of a sudden, you crash a room inwhich your opposition is in face to face.

That always made me jump man.

We had this game when I was a kid called Overlord by Virgin Games, it scared me cause the game was totally silent except for ambient " space" noise and every so often some alarm would blare out of nowhere and I always jumped. It was such a shitty game too. Never got past the first level...I think...I dont even know if it had " levels" hell, I didn' t even know if I was playing it right. I hate that game.

Still wrong actually. The game came out long before any of the games you;ve mentioned. Some may not consider this game to be survival horro but it actually introduces all the elements that horro games are based on these days.

Pacman!

You are put in a maze like level where you running away from *gasp* ghosts. You also have a weapon that is very limited (those power orb things). The entire point of the game is to survive and it has ghosts so it' s horror. Pretty funny huh? Odd but true

Viva Pinata. It seriously creeped me out the first time I saw the screens.


Condemned is the creepiest game I' ve ever actually PLAYED though.

Fatal Frame 2: Crimson Butterfly

Resident Evil 4 (Say what you will about the game being more action-packed and less scary) but it' s the only game that had my arms trembling from being so nervous. The fact that you can' t simply exit a room to get a little breathing room from hordes of enemies played a major factor in that.. Enemies come and keep coming no matter where you run and hide.

The scariest game I' ve ever played?

The first game that comes to my mind is Eternal Darkness, but I' m sure I could come up with more.

For about a week, I became a paranoid child.

i hate scary games

I played part of the FEAR demo on pc then quit the second time i saw that girl
I played through a few levels of Doom 3 on PC then the scare factor wore off slightly and I realized the game was a pilo of pooh.

like many others i got:

3) Resident Evil
2)Fatal Frame (the music drives me nuts)

and in first place....tada:

1)Super Mario World ( the ghost houses...i was little back then so it creeped me out)

I never really got into Resident Evil, and I' m shocked to say I never played Silent Hill.

I think Condemned actually made me buy more underwear this year than the last 3 years put together

Edit: Gotta say Condemned as well, that game had such a great atmosphere.
