This upcoming " next-gen" does nothing to impress me as it is not much of a leap over the current generation

While I pretty much agree with you on this point, I think I have come to live with the fact graphics this coming gen are lesser than what I had expected them to be. However, In the PS3' s favour, a lot of PS2 games looked crap, so the PS3 is a bigger jump than the 360 from XBOX.
In anycase, I think it' s more the animation and style that is cool about this, regardless of graphics, I' d like to give this game a try.
